You may be underestimating her talent at transforming herself into character. She has a lot of range and can definitely be "raunchy". Joplin also had an almost childlike innocent side to her, as well, btw.

As far as the voice? Don't think it would be a problem.

I dunno, the voice and looks are a bit much to overcome. Makeup will help of course and Amy Adams is a gifted actress but it might be a bit of a stretch. Also you have to think a Janis Joplin movie would have a lot of nudity and sex scenes... not sure if Amy Adams is up for that.

I like Adams but not interested in a Joplin movie at all. Just as well give us another Steve jobs movie
