Well Amy Adams is way more attractive than Janis Joplin.

Well for one thing, I will be shocked if Amy Adams can even come close to the appropriately raspy voice. And for this movie, the voice will be everything. Adams is just too polished.
As for other actors? someone like Sally Hawkins could likely pull it off a bit better

Amy Adams is in her 40's. Janis Joplin died in her 20's. Prob just a rumor.
