Saturday night in Death Valley, a very good Ole Miss team is coming, looking to extend their undefeated season and defeat a storied rival opponent. No one outside the Tiger faithful gives the young LSU team a chance. Hell, even some tiger faithful don't give them a chance.

The crowd cheers with reserved excitement as the two teams take the field. The tigers receive the ball first. A 3 and out with 3 conservative run plays from the I formation. Groans and moans emerge from the crowd as it appears that the offense will be much more of the same ultra conservative approach. Ole miss drives down the field to the tune of 7 points. Tiger stadium starts to grow more uneasy. Another 3 and out by the offense, another scoring drive from ole miss. Now it's a ten point deficit the Tigers face. The offense takes the field once again, this time managing two first downs behind the power running of LF7. A punt ends the drive, but flips field position and keeps ole miss inside the 10. 2 stops on at and second gets the Rebs in 3rd and long. The ball is snapped, Godchaux gets past the guard and gets a strip sack on Bo Wallace, Hunter recovers!!! LSU takes control inside the opponents 15! Tiger stadium finally has something to cheer about!

Magee punches the ball in from 3 yards out to make the score 10-7. Tiger stadium grows louder as the defense takes the field once again. A critical 3rd and 4, but what's this, a flag? Holding!? Now it's 3rd and 14 for the rebels. They attempt the pass, but it's broken up by Rickey Jefferson! Ole miss is forced to punt. Tigers get the ball at their own 37. First play, play action over the top, Jennings to Dural, it's complete, for a gain of 59 yards!! Tigers are at the Ole Miss 4 yard line!! LF7 powers thru for another Tiger touchdown!!! And just like that, the tigers have the lead!! Tiger stadium is rocking. Chants of Geaux to hell ole miss can be heard as far away as Mccomb!

Bo Wallace can't get the audibles in....Hugh Freeze is forced to burn a timeout. The atmosphere in Death Valley is now electric!!

Tigers go on to knock off the #3 rebels!

I say all that to say this....it only takes one play, one blink of an eye, to get momentum rolling in our favor. One play and TS comes back alive. One turnover, one big block, one completed pass or power run, and our young team starts to believe in themselves again. Say what you want about our previous 2 opponents, but beating Florida in the swamp and blowing out Kentucky has brought a lot of the confidence back to this team. Winning is the best cure for a lot of things. We can continue the momentum this weekend, and carry it out the rest of the season.

We are still an extremely talented team. Every game left on the schedule is winnable. A few breaks go our way, and we can still finish the season 10-2. It all starts Saturday night.

This could be one of those books that you read as kid where the reader finished the story...if so, this is where the book would stop. Obviously the rest of this story is written by the poster.

all kidding aside this absolutely could happen. I will say that this has that feeling like back in 2012 when we beat South Carolina (when they were #3)....at that point in the season we hadn't really moved the ball on offense and our defense was suspect. Everyone thought Clowney was going to eat our children....but we won somehow and it changed the season.

I don't think people realize how true this is. I actually think they don't want to believe that

It's no secret that I'm not a Miles supporter...but his strengths have really shined through the last few games....No turnovers, run the ball, and let your defense/special teams make a play (except for Dubose).

However, we are facing a different type of team this weekend....a team that reminds me alot of the 2011 LSU team (not as talented though). Ole Miss is not flashy but they have a great defense and (so far) they haven't turned the ball over. they have relied on their defense to win games and made enough plays on offense to beat Bama.

The best chance for LSU in this game is to Run run run punt and try to generate some turnovers and DOMINATE special teams. If Jennings turns the ball over it will be a LONG night.
