Iphone 6 screen flicker, freeze and scroll (updated in OP)

My 1 week old 6 developed the issues above and is running hot causing the phone to unusable. I have to turn it off and on to get it back to operating condition. I've done a complete restore to factory settings and the issue persists. Figured out that any slight pressure applied to the display causes the issues. I set up my appt at the Genius Bar for mid week. If I treat the phone with very light movements, it acts normal. No drops or tight pant bending. Any one else experiencing display failure?
Update:
Showed up at Genius Bar, waited about 15 minutes in the herd of sheep, greeted by three apple workers, second one did initial interview and checked phone to make sure it wasn't bent and third one verified issue with phone, said "Wow" and "I'll be right back with a new phone". iCloud backup was already performed, cleared now old phone of all content, restored new phone from icloud backup and out of there once settings restored. All said I was there 1 hour. By the way, frick ATT for trying to force me into a warranty claim. Forgot to mention that in the original OP.

Don't have an iPhone6 but I keep my S2 in my pocket alot, and it does get really hot sometimes.
And sometimes it gets to the point that I have to restart my phone.
It usually happens in places with low signal. So take it at face value fwiw. My phone is kinda old too, but oh well.

Might help to close out of all your apps running in the background. I've read that certain apps on my Lumia will cause this if left running when not in use.

All apps closed. Definitely seems like a hardware issue.

I would return it, mine stays cool.

Yes, running 8.0.2, did nit install 8.0.1. I plan on getting a new one when I attend my Genius Bar appt. this week.

I heard this was an issue with some +, but not the 4.7"

I've had a few display freezes, but mostly only in landscape mode. It's weird. Same app, everything. Unresponsive when in landscape, works fine in portrait. The app never switches orientation.

Good update, glad it was resolved.
