That's not true. Why is your mother-in-law lying and why is your wife defending her? Sounds like you shouldn't be worried about the catfish...you have bigger fish to fry.

They serve both, have always served both and they cost the same.

They do on the menu price of the fish platters but the food costs are factored in and the fish is portioned to suit.

Try ordering a seafood platter. It normally comes with the thin cut. Ask them to substitute regular fillets for the thin cut and they're happy to do it but they'll charge you a couple of extra bucks. Ask them why and they'll tell you that it's not a substitution fee but it's because serving the fillets instead of the thin cut, with the platter, costs them more. I know this because I prefer the fillets to the thin cut and I always substitute when ordering a seafood platter. I always pay extra.

It's been that way since Horst Pfeifier took over. Before him they wouldn't substitute the fillets, for thin cut, for any amount of money.

Probably thirty some odd years ago, I offered them double the price of a seafood platter to substitute thick for thin. They still told me no!

Well she's right. It's not as thin at as was before it was sold and they started building decks and chicken coops. This seems to bother the old folks tremendously. Every time my mother eats there she complains about it and swears she'll never go back. My mother, like most, enjoys complaining though.
