big improvement from the 10:00 am tip last year. its exactly the type of game we need to start the season. especially since its a national tv night game. a winnable game that can give us good exposure and help attract fans. its been a while since lsu has had a good home midweek national tv game so early on.
hopefully it's not too late for the students though. they probably all have exams the next day in their 7:30 classes.

The ONLY downside is that the game is head to head with UK vs KU. Still, it's a "name" opponent at home to open the season. TTU likely will be mid-pack in the Big 12, but they should be much improved from last year. Smith is a good (not elite) HC.
Mid-week game after LSU's home football schedule has ended. No reason for students and other BR area fans not to show up
