They have signed Tyson Jackson and Paul Solai for an apparent switch to a 3-4 and Jon Asamoah at Guard.

Looks like they are making some pretty solid moves to beef up their lines, where they had the most issues last year.

Wasn't Solai the guy blowing up our offensive line in the first half of the Miami MNF game?

If so, shite.

Meanwhile the Panthers just had two Offensive lineman retire and lost another too didn't they?

Soliai, 5 year $33 million. $14 guaranteed. Pretty expensive at age 30 and will be 31 during next season.

He's a NT. They tend to play longer.

It doesn't matter what they do on the personnel side. Mike Smith will always cost them at least 4 to 5 losses a season.

Tyson Jackson at $25M is a bit expensive too. What is the guarantee? But hey, they are making moves.

Is Tyson Jackson for 5/25 really beefing up? More like cap strapping your team. That's a horrible move. Average to below average production for 5 mil? Please and thank you falcons.

rarely does "winning" the first day of free agency translate to winning the next season

Ask the Eagles...err...the DREAM TEAM

Seriously: Nnamdi, Ronnie Brown, Jason Babin, Vince Young, Cullen Jenkins, the shitty Steve Smith, and a couple of other guys. None of them are even there anymore.

rotoworld-

It's a massive commitment for a former first-round bust, but Jackson is coming off a career year. The Falcons are going on a spending spree as they follow through on their word to toughen and reinforce one of the league's softest defensive lines. He was drafted by new Falcons assistant GM Scott Pioli. The Falcons had to add bodies up front, but Jackson could prove to be one of the more regrettable signings of Day 1.

agree, the diry birds hired Pioli who seems to be trying to prop up his former picks as they signed Asamoah also. (He lost his job in KC last year)
