my car horn won't stop honking...did I solve the problem?

Car horn won't stop honking. It goes off and on sporadically about every 5 or so minutes. It's been doing this for about an hour. I pulled the fuse, and the fuse was the correct one as when I press on the horn it won't make a sound. It's been quiet for the past hour but I thought I heard a small honk from it. Is that possible? If the fuse for the horn is pulled, and the actual horn doesn't work, how then can it make a sound? Any thoughts?

Disconnect the battery. The horn relay may be messed up and allowing the horn to blow even though the ignition is turned off.

we pulled the fuse for the horn relay, or what we think is the fuse for the horn relay because once we pulled it, we can no longer manually honk the horn. Once this fuse is pulled, we should be fine, correct?

Go unplug the horns from the wires that go to them. Takes about 10 minutes to figure it out and 30 seconds to fix it.
You might want to check to see if it is still connected to your harness at the brake lights. Don't ask me why, but most cars pull power for the horn from there. Might have a cut or chaffed wire that is shorting out. If it is jacked, just put a jumper from the wire coming from the horn directly to the wire going to the brake lights. Should be a good weekend project and it is probably what is going wrong IMHO

we've tried to find the wires but can't...regardless, you guys are missing my question - if we've pulled the fuse so that when we try to manually honk it won't honk, is there any way it can still honk even though the horn relay fuse is pulled?

Had this happen to me once. The part inside your steering wheel has two metal plates with some foam or something in between. When the plates touch, it beeps. Anyway my foam was all worn out and when it would get cold at night the metal would compress enough to touch and honk continuously. I ended up just replacing it.

From what I remember, horn switches always have power going to them regardless if the car is off. The relay fuse is just for the horn switch to activate it when you want the horn to blow. The fuse may not prevent it from going off if something like the pad switch is messed up or a short in the wiring.

This happened to me twice but in two different ways (Toyota Highlander).
1) It was very cold out and the horn kept going off in the middle of the night. There was corrosion on the battery posts. It kept tricking out the alarm system. I cleaned the battery posts and it stopped.
2) The battery in the electronic key died and the horn alarm kept going off. Replace the disc battery.
