he lives in Denver, so he was at the game last night. Had some in game tweets, these are all post game

All from his Twitter account

quote:

Jrue Holiday today told me he doesn't think there's anyone in the NBA who couldn't "learn" to shoot

quote:

Holiday thinks it's not even about time spent on the shot because lots of guys practice and still can't hit

quote:

Holiday geninely believes it's about confidence

quote:

Also, put Monty Williams on the anti-tank wagon. "Worst thing aout the NBA," he said.

quote:

Williams says Holiday's the first player he's met who is ultra-compatitive and also a free spirit.

quote:

Not for nothing, but I have pretty strong reasons to believe the Rockets would have to offer WAY THE HELL MORE than Asik for Anderson

quote:

Monty Williams is a pretty hardcore no excuses guy but you could tell he kept coming back to "If we had Tyreke and AD..."

quote:

Because essentialy he's struggling with not playing Holiday and Gordon 40 minutes (Reke) and foul trouble to Smith/Amundson (AD)

Maybe he's the guy that should be working with Rivers.

Why is he struggling? Play them that much or more then. Things tend to go to hell in a hurry when Roberts and Rivers come in.

It seems like the corner 3 is the only shot that Rivers is capable of making. His layups and runners are absolutely atrocious. At least he made a few free throws last night. That was a huge improvement.

If Rivers starts dropping 17 off the bench consistently, then I say you need to start rivers over roberts when reke comes back. Rivers layups are just missing off the front of the rim almost everytime, and his free throws werent bad last night. On all the layups he airballed he got fouled, I like it.

Please don't use the term start next to rivers unless it has the word never or not in front of it.

And you can't just play guys 40 minutes night in and out especially on a road trip. Dudes will wear out.

Moore has turned his tweets into an article on tanking.

quote:

Williams said the key with avoiding players just giving in when adversity hits is making sure that from the top down, everyone in the organization is committed to avoiding the kind of attitude that leads to surrender.

"I think it's on everybody, coaches, players and management to make sure that that message is sent right from the jump. Look, you're going to run into tough times. But it's too early in the season to make assessments about where we are. I do like the fact that we've played better. When you lose Anthony and you have a guy like Ryan [Anderson] to take his spot? It helps a lot."

One night does not a trend make.

Especially in Denver or SLC with their notorious altitudes.

People really go crazy over one game. I wish I was on PT after Rivers dropped 27 last year. I can only imagine how many threads were started talking about he turned the corner.

"Turning the corner" doesn't properly capture the leap that happens going from worst rookie in history to GOAT.

Someone should do an MS paint drawing with Dell looking at a newspaper box score and seeing Asik with 4 Pts and Ryno w 20 and Demps saying '.no way, we need A LOT more than Asik!'

I thought it was a fairly even trade before the season started, but Ryno is clearly more valuable at this point, especially with contracts under consideration.

Rivers is your first thought? Not Aminu?

Aminu clearly has much better form on his jumper (no more laughable rainbows). I think that with some time, he can be a subpar but not terrible jumpshooter, which would make him a pretty valuable player. His corner 3 has actually been respectable, it's just that all of the ones he makes are a foot or two short of a 3. A fixed jumper + more practice, I think he could maybe make ~33% of those corner 3's a year from now. With Reke being able to play the 3 in most matchups, I really hope we re-sign Aminu and just get a legit banger with the MLE.

Please remember Austin Rivers was one of the youngest players in the NBA last year and was thrust into a big role from day one. He physically was not able to handle it. But that was then. From what I've seen he's definitely bulked up a tad and can take the hits when he drives the paint (something he does verrrry well by the way). I think Rivers gets to the rim at an above average level for an NBA player and is still working on his finishing, but when he finally gets it- oh me oh my it will be a sight to behold. Remember he's young- barely 21- so it's not like he won't get better in the next two years. I'd project him as a bonafide starter 3 years from now, his defense is so clean, he just needs to get to a confidence level where he can be a knock down shooter more consistently. Not every dude who's drafted is gonna be a superstar, you just gotta give the kid some time to develop into his role.
