Condi Rice and others picked for selection comittee

Will having Archie on the panel potentially keep us out of a four team playoff? Do you think he can be impartial or at least hate Alabama as much as LSU?

Speaking the English language is not a requirement?

We need to get Peyton's youngest son on the committee. He is a self proclaimed LSU fan.

Condi was born in Birmingham AL. Don't know if she is a bama fan. Seems like I saw where she goes to some bama games

She is a politician. Is anything more political than div 1 football play offs?

I would rather have computers pick the playoff teams than a panel of biased people.

What election did she win?

Seems like she's more of a stateswoman than politician but that's just my opinion... I realize they go hand in hand but Condi was a qualified candidate... Probably more so than Archie.

I agree somewhat here, I wish they would keep the BCS and take the top 4... Really don't understand why they didn't do this.

She is a graduate of Notre Dame and has ties to Standford. Her highschool years were spent in Denver, Colorado so I wouldn't imagine she has any Bama bias.

This is the kind of shite I was afraid of.

Condi Rice doesn't belong on that committee any more than I do.

There should NEVER have been a committee. #1-4 should be in the playoff and that's that.

I'm not sure Archie is such a great pick. I would think he's up to speed on the NFL and not so much on college anymore. Doesn't he travel most weekends to watch his boys play. These committee members need to eat, drink and sleep college football.

Roll Tide

quote:

Former U.S. Secretary of State and Birmingham native Condoleezza Rice said today that she's planning to be in Tuscaloosa on Saturday for the college football showdown between top-ranked LSU and the second-ranked University of Alabama, offering her prediction with a hearty "Roll Tide!"

quote:

Rice said she had a slight emotional conflict because her late father, John Wesley Rice, was a native of Baton Rouge. "That's a little problem for me, but I always go for the Tide," she said.

Condi Rice is a Birmingham native and big Bama fan. Goes to games a lot. Went to Bowls for Bama. She is a female and Black, so she meets the new qualifications under Obama to serve. I do not know if she is Lesbian or Muslim. I do know she is not a Socialist or Communist, but did teach at Stanford before getting into politics. I really don't think she is qualified for this, why would she even want it. She might have applied for it for all we know.

I'd think Condi is on this committee to show diversity. She's been educated in 2 different conferences and born in another. She's not a sports insider and represents the female sports fans. My only issue with her is her links to Bama.
