Been told the people who own hunting club on Davis island put a barge in channel to block off hunters from coming into lake. Is there any truth to this? And can we hunt the lake like public land. Duck hunting that is

Those poor Davis Island hunters have to deal with a never ending stream of river rats, trespassers and poachers. The duck hunting out there sucks most of the time anyway, so why bother?

So where exactly is the barge?

I was just told they pull a barge in the channel that goes from the boat ramp into the lake. It is what I heard. True or not, I don't know. I'm just wondering

When i went hunting over there years ago, they had a ferry that crossed Palmyra. Are you talking about the ferry?

There are about 5 different hunting clubs on Davis Is. Where is this barge supposed to be?

I think it's like Yucatan. Meaning you can hunt the channel but not the backwater. Most people that hunt Yucatan when the water is up are actually on Big Rack land, and they can and do get ticketed for trespassing. I think Palmyra is the same way, but I don't know this to be fact.

ever go thru Palmyra chute when the water is up? Snag city. I can't imagine the hunting in the channel would be worth a crap anyway.
