Allowing a 6.3 average per rush

kinda inflated by 1 big run

w/o SJax's 50 yarder... the Saints held the Falcons to under 2.5 yds/rush

I was hoping for a top 20 defense. Could they develop into a top 15 D?

Yeah I don't know how that guy isn't pleased with the saints holding any team to only 17

Where did I say that, goofus?
I said allowing 7.3 per play and 6.3 per carry isn't encouraging to me.
It's a frikin' OPINION!
Are you good with those numbers?
I'm a Saints fan you turd. I'm elated we beat the Falcons.

Allowing 17 points to one of the better offenses in the NFL is definitely encouraging. You can pull all of the obscure stat lines out you want, but the bottom line is 17 points.

exactly. this ain't college where the yards mean more and can tell you more about your defense due to different factors. This is NFL. Where you face pros every game who can beat you. under 20 points to a high powered offense? i'll take it.

Yards don't matter, especially in the mickey mouse happy go lucky passing league we have today. Good teams will get their yards. Can you keep them from scoring is the ONLY thing that matters.

This is why it infuriates me when people say we had the worst d of all time last year. We didn't even have the worst defense last year, the Titans did.
