I asked my brother who often vacations this area to suggest a restaurant. He told me "cracker barrel. Do any of the foodie brethren on here know of some locally owned places close by that would be good for dinner. Moderate to upscale.

Cafe Grazie, Cobalt, Cosmo's, Louisiana Lagniappe. Heard a few good things about Villaggio Grille but I haven't been.

I just got back.
Here is a rundown of the restaurants I went to and all of them were very good but not exactly knock your socks off great:
Fishers
Cobalt
The Gulf
The Steamer
Villagio
Cosmos
I think my favorite was getting a burger at the Gulf for lunch Very unique setting on the pass. Great views. Excellent burger. Cold beer.
The wait for dinner at Cosmos is forever, but its not so bad because Marty and Bobby Mohan-Culp are there singing all kinds of hippie burn out tunes.

Take a short road trip (20 minutes) to Magnolia Springs and eat at Jesse's.

Oyster Bar or Fishermans Corner are two of my favorites.

Stay your arse in Nola if you have nothing to contribute!
Cobalt, Cosmos, grazie, LL and Cottons are all good. Stay away from Bubbas, Hurricane grill and Wintzels expect for their oysters. Make a trip to Bon Secour and visit Tin Top
