How did it perform? (DRT, blood trail etc.)
Did you deer hunt with it on purpose or were you hunting small game and saw a deer?

.223

how were your results? i dont know anyone that has used this. what ammo? grain?
Medium and smaller deer at shorter ranges, standard ball/fmj works fine. Aim for fleshy area and 9 times out of 10 the bullet will yaw after entry and make a nasty exit wound.

Shooting into the chest cavity with fmj = chance of lost deer.

Since becoming a civilian again, stuck with short range head/base of head shots with whatever ammo I had on hand (brushy wooded environment)

My eyes aren't as good as they used to be, so I'm getting away from .223 when I get a chance to do some experimenting.

only deer I've killed in the past 5 years was with a .257 wby mag.

Absolutely devastating round.
