My buddies and I will be going to Gulf Shores in March for Spring break. Any suggestions on guide charters for a 6 hour trip? Thanks.

Spend the money on hookers and blow, take a trip out of Louisiana later for offshore...

What are you expecting to catch? Snapper aren't in season. Trigger, beeliners, kings and a few others are about all you would be able to catch on a 6 hr trip. You have to go a pretty good ways out from GS to get to deep water.

Jamie G out of Zekes for 6 people or less - went 6 hours in August (6 foot seas) brutal trip, only 13 miles out but caught more fish than I could dream of (Hundreds of snapper, 15 lb trigger, tons of cobia at the FADs)

Class Act for around 10 people (Out of Zekes also) - Went in August again, good fishing, bitchin 52 foot boat, got us into some Amber Jack.

Only 2 boats I have first hand experience with, both good trips and captains though.

Is the class act still blue, fished on it a few times back when I fished for a living. Save your money take a inshore trip IMO. Kings and Spanish won't be hitting on shite and a little early for cobia maybe. Check the week before if the ling are starting to run a little fire up the green egg cruise and relax. Sheepshead will be on fire possibly at the rigs.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I didn't figure it would be the best time of year for fishing. I've gone deep sea fishing plenty of times. My buddies and I go to school in west Texas and none of them have gone before and want to do it. Would prefer to go out of Louisiana but prob won't work with our schedule.

Local OB resident. As others have mentioned Class Act Captain Dale Woodruff, good friend and is a good captain. However IMO Capt. Ricky Mcduffey of the Sea Hunter is one of the best on the Island, that's if he does 6 hours. There are a bunch of great Captains and boats in the area but that time of year will be tough with the unpredictable weather. On a 6 hour you're not going very far offshore, beeliners, trigger are about the best bottom fish you can hope for plus troll for Spanish, kings and maybe Chase down a Cobia. Spend the extra and go on a 10 hr trip if you really want to get on a mess of fish. I'll check back on this thread and answer any questions on captains or boats. Look on zekes website or the oranbeach charter website.

Jesus I feel like a douche, it was estimated around 10 lbs. or so. When I brought it in, he said it would have won the tournament they had not too long before my trip. Please excuse my exxageration.

Yes Class Act is the light blue 52'. Very nice boat, but besides the AJ we got into, fishing was pretty slow.
