This is like watching two kindergarteners fighting

I thought Louisville would be higher after their great year. Thought they'd sign more big time recruits. However, they did get some good transfers.

Jesus you keep talking yourself into retardation.
Talent -> offers -> stud recruit.
How is this so hard for you to understand?

Miami is #44 on Rivals right now. That's crazy.
14th in average star rankings with Sanctions looming over head: self imposed reduction in schollys and visit limitations too
We had small class but did well with what we got. No 5* but several good 4*

FIFY, recruiting most of them is a complete nonstarter

And they run the triple option. No big time recruit wants to go there because they aren't set up well to project players to the NFL.
It really has nothing to do with the triple option. Even when we didn't run the triple option, we didn't get big time recruits. I don't think we've ever had a unanimous 5-star recruit. Calvin was a 4 on one site and a 5 on another. I don't know why people act like recruiting has taken a turn for the worst now that PJ is here. Besides the 2007 class, PJ's classes have been better than Gailey's.
This class beats every single Gailey class except the 2007 one.
Average stars year to year:
2013: 2.71
2012: 3.00
2011: 2.91
2010: 3.17
2009: 2.90
2008: 2.65
2007: 3.30
2006: 2.69
2005: 2.37
2004: 2.21
2003: 2.67
2002: 2.88
Gailey was pulling in tons of 2-stars.
2002 - 12 recruits per scout. 50% were 3* or better.
2003 - 21 recruits. 57% 3* or better.
2004 - 24 recruits. 29% were 3* or better.
2005 - 20 recruits. 40% were 3* or better.
2006 - 14 recruits. 50% 3* or better.
This year we've got eight 3 star and two 4 star. That's 77% 3* or better.
This is nothing new unfortunately. We don't offer majors that sound appealing to kids that just want to play football. The Hill only allows about 2 exceptions per year as well.

Which impacts defensive players how, exactly?
My theory is based more on the academics and culture at Tech combined with the fact that Johnson is an a-hole.

As a Georgia Tech fan, I have learned not to get worked up about Signing Day. We don't sign many top recruits, but we also don't have the attrition due to busts or off-the-field problems. Clemson, Miami, and UNC always beat us in recruiting and we are a combined 17-8 against them since 2005. UGA is another story, but that's as much about conference disparity as it is about talent disparity.

talent gets you better offers
you'd think coaches of highly successful teams would be better evaluators of talent than lesser coaches or recruiting sites

Do you really want to go play defense at Georgia Tech when you can go to Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Florida State, Auburn, or Alabama, actually win some games (except at Auburn) and play for a better defensive coordinator in a program that churns out defensive talent?

I've never been a fan of eugenics, but goddamn you make a good argument for it. What scares me even more is that you get to vote and you drive on our nation's roads.
