I agree if it could be made reliable. I don't know much about the Coonan. It just looks sooooooooooooooooooooooooo huge

They're VERY reliable. The whole thing is literally designed around 357 magnum. That's why they have the rotating follower in the magazine, a free floating barrel, and a full length dust cover.

It spits some fire. Check this out.

Hummmmm

I'm gonna have to do some reading.

.357mag is definitely my pet handgun caliber for defense against 2 legged varmints.

Can you imagine how impressive it would be with those buffalo bore 125s you posted earlier?????

frickin Right!

Also, I had read on a forum that a guy did a back-to-back test of his 6" 686 vs the 5" Coonan. The Coonan had higher velocities every single time. The reasoning is simple - there is no cylinder gap.

Hell that Buffalo Bore might could do 1800fps out of it. I would call Coonan and make sure it can handle it first though.

That would be getting close to shooting a bad guy with a .30-30

You're also supposed to be able to shoot 38 special out of it with a recoil spring swap.

But I've heard the 38 isn't as reliable as 357.

So what are the chances of the Coonan staying around this time? How unruly does that thing feel in your hand? How controllable is it? Is it as reliable as a good .45acp 1911? Going off what you said it's a fair bit different than your standard 1911.

If you call the company directly, they can give you an estimate. I've heard they have great CS.

I'm not sure but they shortened the trigger to fit the bigger magwell.

He advertises it showing videos of women shooting it.

That would be up to the user. Read some testimonials and watch some YouTube videos to see.

For sure. Here's a video of Dan Coonan explaining it:
