Someone tell Dukke V the game is on Saturday night so we can avoid his shitty threads about how the refs deepthroat Coach K.

14-2 with a close loss at Michigan. NC State has as good a top 6 in the country as anyone. If they stay out of foul trouble and don't get greedy, they're a REALLY good basketball team.

In the Oklahoma State loss, CJ Leslie fouled out with 18 minutes to go and Richard Howell fouled out shortly after.

Questioning whether or not this team is the best in the ACC right now is ignorant. Conference play just started and Duke is without a key player for half the remaining season. State could easily come out on top if they can split with Duke this year.

State lacked all cohesivness and intensity in that game. They are a much better team than the one that got beat by 20 points.

They have lacked cohesiveness in many games early on. They are possibly the most balanced team in the country if they could just put it together for 40 minutes.

Biggest issue for NC State is their defense. 169th in the country, an historically bad defense for a top 25 team. Surprised at TJ Warren being a no-show last night as well.

However, State has some very talented guys (but no bench beyond Warren). Could be a Duke loss without Kelly, but I expect a close game. Kelly was playing the best ball of his career, hitting 52 percent from 3. Now he is expected to miss 2 to 4 weeks

Fun fact: Kelly played AAU ball with Sam Montgomery.

After last nights game, Freshman Rodney Purvis jumped into double digit average in points, giving NC State SIX players averaging double digits this season.

Someone name a team more balanced. Unfortunately, they have Zero depth.

If we're talking about pure balance, Oregon has 5 double digit scorers and their sixth leading scorer is one of the best defenders in the NCAA. They're not an amazing team, but they have a lot of balance.

Duke has 5 double figure scorers, Michigan has 4 guys in double figures and two centers who would have double figures if they played on a worse team, Indiana has 5 guys in double figures and better depth after that point than NC State, etc.

Yeah, I was speaking more in terms of offense. Michigan and Indiana are both very balanced, and because of depth and continuity, better teams. But NC State has six guys who could go off and score 25 on a given night. Guys who, when hot, can be go to scorers.

But I agree with the teams you listed, very balanced and strong depth. I think Oregon will beat Arizona tonight as well. They could possibly make some noise as a lower seeded team in the NCAA tournament later on.

Also their lack of rebounding has been a huge issue. The defense isnt too bad. I mean, zo has been a pretty terrible defender for the beginning of the season.

CJ still has a tendency to pick up really stupid fouls. Like reaching in after a guy rebounds his missed jumper, things like that. There's no tactical benefit to it, and it's so blatant that an official has to call it.

Mason used to do that shite all the time his first two years, but now, that's thankfully gone. He still clumsily runs into a guy once a game on the three point line, but I can live with that.

I guess what I'm saying is that I hope CJ picks up some really dumb fouls because he can't control his temper. Otherwise, without Kelly's excellent long range shooting forcing him to defend the three point line, he will get a lot of rebounds, and that can allow State to run some fast breaks with Purvis and Brown.
