You may also want to check out Chelsea Market. If you walk down High Line park on the West side, High Line terminates at Chelsea Market. You can take in nice views of Manhattan from High Line and have a nice eating/shopping experience at Chelsea Market.
If you want to walk down 5th Avenue to 14th Street at Union Square, there's one of the greatest Farmer's Markets that you will see anywhere. Union Square Farmer's Market There's a huge selection of breads, jellies, meats, veggies. Incredible to see. Garden of Eden is right around the corner at 7 East 14th Street. It's a deli that has nice prepared foods. There are no tables in Garden of Eden so you'll have to take a stroll to the park and have lunch there.. if it's not too cold, of course.

Go to breakfast at Sarabeth's Kitchen Central Park. Very legit breakfast right on Central Park.
If I could tell you one place for lunch (or dinner but I think lunch is a better call) to hit up it would be a place called Red Farm. It had dim sum and noodle bowls and stuff and is amazing. Honestly, I ate multiple extremely nice restaurants on the trip but this place was tops and we went for lunch.
It's not near Central Park though.
