As one person on here mentioned the Cotton Bowl win was greater than a chance to play for a BCS game win.

One thing that has me excited his how all these prognosticators on the blogs tend to think that aTm is a legitimate top ten team next year. And we basically went to an away game in what was aTm's biggest bowl game in forever and beat the shite out of them all the while the rumors of Miles going to UM were just sitting in everyone's head.

Maybe it was made tongue in cheek because all said and done the BCS bowls pay more, have more publicity than the non-bcs ones and it does mean that you were amongst the top 2 schools in your conference.
Having said that, the Cotton, this year, was the best possible alternative for LSU, especially because of the lackluster match-ups of some of the BCS bowls.
It is a really good thing that the media is hyping the aggies, this way it provides a good platform for next year.
- good record in 2010
- thrashing a "good" a&m
- les being in the coaching spotlight
- really hard OOC in 2011
By the time LSU plays and beats Oregon, there is a good chance that the ranking will be 1 or 2.

I wouldn't call one good game against a PAC-10 team a really hard OOC schedule. The rest of the games are weak. WVU will be down again next year and then we get Northwestern State and Western KY.

I dont see how we can work in a game with Western Kentucky

WOW!!! Tough crowd!
Oregon on the road opening game (top 5 team)
NorthWestern St @home (rent-a-win)
MSU away (at least top 20)
WVU away (BCS team - maybe top 25?)
Kentucky @home
Florida @ home (top 20 at least)
Tenn away
Auburn @ home (top 25 at least)
-
Bama away (top 10 at least)
Western Kentucky @ home (patsy)
Ole Miss away
Ark @home (top 20 at least)
There is
1 rent-a-win
1 patsy
The rest 10 games are all BCS schools and 7 of them are likely to be ranked in the beginning and the end of the season as well.
Chances are high that we might end up playing 3/5 in the top 10/15
Games are equally split away and home.

Because ,disregarding NWSt, the other 10 are ball-breakers? Even super athletes need a break (emotionally / mentally) to not pressure themselves all the time.

That is a tough schedule man, Oregon will have speed and attitude and WVU at home is a tough place to play. They lose Devine but they have some good athelete's and their QB will have a year's experience under his belt.

What happened to the return game that Washington owes us? Thanks.

Aren't you supposed to build on every win? Just a thought.

oregon and wvu OOC is a very strong ooc. This is a no brainer. Playing at WVU will not be easy. Oregon just barely lost the NC game. And yes the fact that we play in the very tough sec does make our ooc even more impressive.

Finish out the season with a bowl win over a decent opponent was big, especially after ending the regular season with a very disappointing loss. Can't wait for 2011.

This is not necessarily true. Gino will be much improved, plus it will be on TV in Morgantown where they always play tough.
