Woodward doesn't owe you, or anyone else, an explanation or a coddle just because people foolishly got their hopes up while listening to random posters on a fan message board.
To him it's business as usual right now, and the fact that he's quiet and fishing or whatever SHOULD be seen as a good sign that he's got someone in the bag.
For all we know, he's had his guy for weeks now and never really pursued Riley or Napier or anyone else; he's just having to wait for this coach to finish out his season at the coach's request. That is what all signs point to right now, unless you're busy overreacting and melting.
There's an obvious reason Woodward both isn't saying anything and hasn't announced a new coach today, and that's because he has someone and isn't scrambling in a panic

He’s definitely in town, got the chance to meet/talk to him today. Asked if we should be following Dellenger or Feldman and he just laughed, said they are good but on the wrong path.

Woodward isn't going to give any information to the public regarding the hiring of his selection.
His selection and deal has been made imo.
- the new LSU coach is still coaching a team with legit CFB playoff chances and has requested silence until further notice, to avoid distractions with his current team.
I know LSU's recruiting maybe affected during the early signing period, but we will still close out strong.
- I believe Woodward has landed his top candidate, that being Luke Fickell.
Just My Opinion
His selection and deal has been made imo.

Fickell’s agent is Sexton. WAFB got all phone and email records for Woodward from LSU. That showed Before O was fired Woodward had a meeting with Sexton.

I won’t critique until they’ve signed a HC. LSU didn’t want Napier. Mel tucker should’ve never been a candidate, LR didn’t have the chest to coach in the SEC and what has Jimbo done at A&M to make him appealing. We haven’t missed, yet, IMO.
