There are very few candidates I would actually melt over.

My potential melt will come from the aftermath of our hire. For example, I will go ballistic if we hire Franklin and then Fickell goes to Penn State. I've got Fickell about 20 (small exaggeration) spots higher than Franklin on my preferred candidates list.

I can support virtually anyone but Tucker. Hiring a proven mediocrity with no consistent history of success who has a sum total of one winning season as a HC is just too fricking much. It's a total transgression and abrogation of reason.

The reality is most names we see in contention could do great things here. Les and Ed, neither the best coach in the world, had us winning championships. Any name that’s been seriously thrown around is an upgrade. Some would be better than others, yes, but I’ll give the benefit of the doubt until I see the product on the field.

The last HC the most of the fanbase soundly approved of was Curley Hallman.

Dinardo: Never had a winning record at Vandy
Saban: The guy from Michigan St. whose arse LSU kicked in the Independent Bowl? And LSU is paying him $1 million per year?!!!!
Miles: THAT is the best we could do?
Orgeron: Are you kidding me?!!!!!

Everyone wanted Tom Herman at the end of 2016....who is now prominently featured as an "Analyst" for the Chicago Bears...who have the worst offense in the NFL. Now maybe he would have performed much better at LSU than Texas. But it's not like Texas is a resource poor program.

It is to the point now that if the fans are happy something may be terribly wrong.

Let's be honest, an idiot could coach LSU to 9-10 wins a season.

People got on board with the Dinardo and Orgeron hires.

They'll get on board with this one.

You've got to give the hire 24 hours for the partisans of other coaches to decompress from their disappointment and then think it over. By 48 hours after the hire 95 percent of everyone here will be ready to run through walls for the new coach.

Why is that I feel like the majority on here feel Aranda is splashy (ish) but Napier is meh. Or am I reading the room wrong?

I can't. Every bit of news sends me into a blind panic or ecstasy.

Maybe that's just the coke.

Maybe it's me projecting in reverse?

You’re fixing to find out.

It’ll be a Jay Johnson hire.

Rant will melt
