A lot of bots running today. I was able to clear another 2 or 3 that have been stuck for a month. Look for opportunities to aggressively DCA to get free!

Cleared about 1.5% profits today...
Best day since starting a week and half ago with 3commas.

On my paper training account I did some experiments with take profit deviations. I was for sure that a lower take profit would be more profitable, thinking that they would just execute trade after trade, but I guess there’s slippage and a small time delay.
In between the trades I have the percent increase in requested take profit, and percent increase in actual take profit. Of the next level
Mana 12/11 BO 10, SO 20, #SO 20, SOS 1.1.
.06 334 trades made 5.81
66%, 54%
.1. 286 trades made 8.96
200%, 155%
.3 197 trades made 22.91
233%, 93%
1% 58 trades 44.19
Then I wanted to do one with bitcoin, because I knew it had more narrow trading range.
Btc created 12/17 BO 10, SO 20, #SO 20, SOS 1.1.
.3~ 45 trades, $3.22
233% increase TP = 57% more
1.0 ~14, $5.07
50%,25%
1.5~ 10, 6.36
100,-18%
3~ 4, 5.16
Looks like most efficient TP may be some where around 1.5
I’m going to start 5 more with etherium at
1 ,1.25, 1.75, 2, and 2.5

Interesting. I have done better with smaller %.

I've got 10-12 bots on about 2500 invested. as I'm increasing my total account i'm updating my BO amounts to be about 1% of total and doubling the SO amounts. I've gone from 5-10 in profit per day to 15-20. I'd love to get $1 per trade but I just don't have the bank roll for that. I guess I could reduce the number of bots but I fee like this whole bot thing needs as many different currencies working at once to maximize profits.
eta: to clarify, I'll up my BO once I cross the 3k mark from $20 to $30 and double the SOs accordingly. my take profit is set at 1.25%

Interesting. I never understood why Trade Alts guy was running TPP at 2-3%. Seems like profits could be missed running them that hi. I’ve had mine at 1.5, and pretty happy with that. I’m always up for changing it up though if necessary.
Hope everybody had a good Christmas. Hopefully these bots will start running again. December was pretty boring for mine.

Thanks for the post. Looks like we are in a similar place. I have $2800 and looking to add more and adjust accordingly.
How did others scale up? I'm thinking changing my BO from 10 to 15, my SO from 20 to 30 and keeping everything else the same.
And do I have to disable/re-enable those changes to get them going?
Thanks.

No. I just changed and saved. My bots are set to auto restart once they clear so the next BO will be at the new rate. I think the safety order amount jumps as well.

Do you know if the profit 3commas shows is net of fees?
Posted on 12/30/21 at 9:28 am to Oizers
I'm pretty sure the bot takes your fees into account when taking profit. So if your fees are .2% (for example) and your TP is at 1.25%, the bot will TP at 1.45%. That's how I understand it, but I hope somebody more sure than I am chimes in

I’m getting some error messages Rate Limit Exceeded. Anyone know what that means?

That's what the 3commas support page says:
quote:
Yes, exchange fees to open and close deals are included in the bot targets and safety order price calculations (excluding Grid bots). You can see your Take Profit order slightly higher because of it.

How’s everyone been doing since this thread started? I’ve got 15k in it but doing pretty small BO/SO 10/20ish with about 35 bots.
My profits over the last month in a half are about $1300 but my actual account size hasnt done much. Has varied between 13.5-15.5k the entire time. Sitting at 14.3k at the moment. Prob doesn’t help that Bitcoin has gone down about 15-20k since I started. Just wondering how everyone else is doing?

I'm on a smaller scale but about the same %. I'm in for about a month with $3800 in and my account is sitting at $3780. Some bots are up to 15 SOs but most are in the single digits.
I'm waiting on a turnaround and trusting DCA to come through. And looking to add more $ and bots since the market is down and I have a bit of cash available.

Cautious investor, got about $1k into Bitcoin a year ago after several years following crypto. Been a pretty wild ride by my standards. Trading bots are intriguing, I already practice DCA. Couple of questions on 3commas if anyone cares to chime in, apologies if already asked:
Is this service legitimate? Do they make money on just subscription fees, or is there something I don't recognize yet? I understand there are trading fees on the external platform, but I don't quite understand the 3commas business model. Will the bot trade you into debt, and/or can this outcome be mitigated through the user settings? What are the consequences when you land upside down?
Crypto trading is funny money for me, but I believe we're just getting a peek into a very different future. I'm a baby, any replies appreciated.

I switched all of my bots to manual restart, so they are gradually shutting down. I'll restart them soon, but I want to grab some of those profits.
In hindsight, I had too many bots running for the capital I had invested. I've had a rough month or so.

Just the fees I think.

I can only speak for the DCA bots, but no, they don't trade for a loss unless you make them sell. They will just hodl your funds until the market rebounds.

Anyone else have a bunch of shitcoin bots just close out? But eth and btc keep sliding down?
Posted on 1/7/22 at 8:24 am to horsesandbulls
I've changed my strategy to try to hit the $1 target. Reduced my SOs to only 5, but my step scale to 1.5, still covers me on downside to 40% just not as many buys. I also went to 50BO, 60SO with 1.05 SO volume. PT is 2% which puts me at $1. I'm only running 2 bots like this at the moment for testing.
I created a calculator to show me what the target price would be based on my SO amount, when it was bought etc.. This seemed like best bang for my buck. Still tweaking it.
