That more tiger fans would take Tomlin before Gruden?

He did NOT say that.

Fix your headline.

He was responding to an interview by a former NFL GM and friend of Tomlin.

Tomlin would be the GM/ CEO of LSU Football and that if possible, Woodward should call him and gauge his interest….

And that our boosters / money folks, should make him an offer he can’t refuse

He also just said if an LSU fan disagreed with him being hired your racist

I’m glad to know racist has lost all meaning and it isn’t even bad to be called one anymore.

Weird, because lots of fans supported elevating guys like aranda to hc and Raymond to dc in the past.

Or frank Wilson.

I’m going to say race has a lot less to do with it then you are insinuating and it’s all about the individual.

And btw, I like mike Tomlin and take him as my pro team coach. But I don’t want some guy to just be the figure head ceo who has already been there done that and won’t use his allotted time to go visit recruits in the road, nor where to even begin looking.

Did any else happen to hear when RC segment began? The convo started with them talking about Mel Tucker and the idea floating around that LSU should hire a black coach to appease players who have been disappointed by a right leaning coach who did not support their struggle in 2020.

RC said unequivocally that LSU should NOT hire anyone based on race. He WENT ON AND ON about how it should be the best man for the job, white black brown or whatever. Then simply talking about race triggers half our fan base, and a quarter of you are so uncomfortable you start screaming race baiter, which is code loud and clear.

The closest Ryan Clark should get to the Tigers is row 55 in the northeast endzone

Amazing how the black guy who doesn’t care about the color of the next LSU coach, only talks about hiring black coaches. Agenda?

Probably already mentioned but what’s in the OP is not even remotely close to what RC said

Tate may have already done an introduction call to Tomlin.

I think most LSU fans would like Tomlin but not Tucker.

Why would he leave the NFL? That makes no sense. Then again, almost nothing Ryan Clark says makes any sense.

If Mike tomlin wants to be the HC at lsu...you take that chance.

No other coach in college would have the clout to tell a recruit he knows exactly what it takes to get the NFL. None.

With that said...this is pipe dream territory.

You are ignoring the point of what you quoted as well as the entire nature of my post.

There is a small part of the LSU fan base that would object to LSU hiring a coach just because he was black. It’s by no means the majority of LSU fans or representative of the majority of LSU fans. But it is a “statistically” significant percentage.

As for the Gruden-Tomlin comparison look at the reaction on this board when Gruden (with his recent controversy) was mentioned as a possible coach vs Tomlin.
