I have heard this a few times? Is there anything legit to this? Is it Title ix mess or not reporting sexual harassment? Would it be kinda like what Kansas used to ditch Miles?

Conduct detrimental to the brand/program. Pretty easy case IMO.

I'm sure there's a conduct unbecoming clause in there. Then his lawyers and our lawyers fight it out and come up with a settlement everybody pinky swears never to talk about.

We've been doing an internal investigation for *insert number of months when we fire O* and found that O was heavily involved in the Title IX situation and thus must be fired.

Cause can be anything they want to fire him for. Whether or not that reasoning would hold up in court is another story, so they need to be sure that they have their ducks in a row.
Every coach has a Moral Turpitude type of clause in their contract, so they always have that in their back pocket if need be.

Failure to report is a Title IX violation and could be his demise even if LSU doesn't act on it against him.

LSU should have moved on when the allegations and implications became public.

I am not telling you why 0.

Most coaching contracts have a lengthy list of things they could be fired for -- everything from seemingly minor traffic infractions to failing to report Title IX issues to the ambiguous "failing to represent the university in the highest possible character."
Coaches sign it because, well, they want the money.

Conduct unbecoming of the head coach of a major program.

How about that because of his ineptitude, abrasiveness, and arrogance he cannot assemble a competent coaching staff. He cost the program millions with the Canada, Linehan, and the Pelini debacles. He is now employing two coordinators who have no business coordinating anything at LSU.

Never happen, the LSU program would then be sued and way too much stuff would be exposed that LSU does not want...they will pay him to leave..
