Only put them in the check on and not carry on?
Put them in one of those circular mint case things. Put in checked baggage.
Flying out from SeaTac, I never had a problem doing it this way. I actually save any prescription bottle so I can load it up with edibles.

Putting it in checked baggage is always a risk because the baggage people might steal your stash.

Yeah, that is the opposite of good advice.
When I fly out west I always bring back about 10 packages of edibles in checked baggage. I've never had an issue. Once, my bags even were inspected because I'd put my laptop in my checked bag like a dumbass. They opened the bag, did the inspection and left my edibles in the bag.
ETA: It is worth noting that if you do get caught you risk losing TSA Pre Check and Global Entry.

How so? Putting it in checked baggage is a good way to get your pot taken by airline workers who check the bags. You may have never had it happen, but it does happen.
I've flown with edibles and carts in my carry-on many, many times and have never had a problem.

The dogs in airports are sniffing out bombs not drugs
It was easy to stuff it in your pants back in the day but those new scanners will pick up pockets of heat or whatever.
You can still bring a little bit. Fold a couple buds in a thick pair of socks. Disassemble your vape and put it in your toiletries kit. Edibles? Just throw em in the bag.

It happens fairly often. I've had a handful of friends it has happened to.
I get both arguments, but for me it's about control. If it's in my carry-on, I at least have some control over it. If the bag happens to be pulled for a more thorough search, you're going to be present for it. A checked bag pulled for a search, you're not there. But if you due some due diligence and move the stuff to inconspicuous containers, you'll likely be fine.

TSA is there to check for weapons/explosives.
They don't care about your weed. Just don't bring too much of it where it could look like an intent to sell.

I don't think I would be hauling what is considered a shitload. If you keep it to personal use amounts, you should be fine. If you're hauling what looks like you could be distributing, even if you do honestly intend to use it all personally, you're begging to be made an example of.

Put edibles in a snack bag. If possible get vape pens and put it in carry on. They will either 1) not care or 2) think it’s nicotine.

Buddy of mine visited Ca. for a wedding a few years ago. Wanted to bring weed back on plane but was a little apprehensive. At the reception he met an ex TSA employee. He asked her if it would be advisable to bring the devils lettuce back home on the plane. The ex TSA agent said if they search everybody that boarded a plane, flights would never leave the ground.

I've seen drug sniffer dogs in several airports. Not sure if edibles would alert or not.

Yep. Just think about how long those TSA lines are at most big airports. Then think about how many people from states where it is illegal are flying out of states where it is legal. I'd venture a guess that on an average day at the Denver, LA, Seattle, etc. airports, around 50% of travelers have a weed product on them. If they were stopping every single person that had a cart and battery to try and determine it was nicotine or THC, people would be missing flights all the time.

I believe this thread has proven that there are many ways to do it, just don't be obvious. Most all of my friends travel with shite these days and I've never heard of someone getting in trouble.

I’ve always been told put it in your checked bag. Carry on you have to go through the x ray and possibly walk by a cop with a dog, though I think most of the dogs are trained for bomb sniffing not drugs.
Checked bag they don’t look for drugs. It goes under much less scrutiny because you can’t access the bag during flight. Basically it’s scanned for bomb shaped items and put under the plane. They don’t have time to stop every bag or arrest every person who tries to bring an 8 ball to Vegas or take home weed brownies from Colorado

I just came back from California with a pouch of gummies, had them in the front pocket of my bag. no one stopped me. I think TSA is more worried about explosives or combustibles than edibles. Now I wouldn't try to bring 1,000 back, but a small amount I don't think they really care, bigger fish to fry and what not.
