I live in Vestavia (Hoover grad) and I'm curious which school systems are being referenced. I have a 3 yr old so I've already been doing some advance scouting. Any word on how Briarwood is handling things?

I’m not sure if they are masking or not. I think Vestavia is only Jefferson Co school that did not mask. Homewood, Mt Brook, and Hoover all went with masks.

Here is the thing, wearing the same shite masks the general public wears does nothing.

So the mask thing is back in Nola. Earlier today standing in line everyone was wearing masks. The two people wearing scrubs had N95 masks on in line.

Everyone else had the cloth mask or the shite surgical mask, some with it hanging below their nose. One young black dude just pulled his down and started drinking his gatorade while standing next to people. No care in the world, no one said anything or changed behavior.

But I cant go to the fricking gym now because I didnt get a jab?

None of this makes sense. It didnt 18 months ago and it doesnt now. It is not about your safety.

I’m feeling much better my man! Chest has opened up. Spitting crap out minute upon minute. Took a long walk and about to do some home exercising.

So you went to work with covid, then had to go to the er, now you are much better all within hours?

You sound like either a gigantic pussy, or you are full of shite.

And everyone calling you out in that thread was right.

An N95 mask wont't help you either if there were a real contagious deadly airborne disease. You would need a full body suit. No exceptions.

Nah, an N95 (worn properly) would be good enough. Covid doesn't seem to infiltrate the eyes based on what I've read. And it doesn't seem to transmit via surfaces very readily.

But, still, wearing an N95 properly in a school setting with hundreds of kids isn't going to work (especially small children). First of all, it's not comfortable. Secondly, you can't fit test that many kids.

Masking in school won't work. I say just turn the kids loose and let Covid takes its natural course. Either that or just keep the kids at home.

There was also a rinky dink test done by UF that showed masks worn by students for 8 hours were freaking nasty on the inside. Common sense really.

Would be great for the scientific study of Covid-19 to have more granular data here,

But Wuhan virus has never been about science or data.

Briarwood and Westbrook Christian are two of the largest private school systems in central Alabama.

Both started and ended school on time LAST YEAR. They never shut down or “went virtual”. They had kids in masks but it was not strictly enforced by every teacher/coach.

Deaths or ICU admissions counts:

Zero.

Neighbor’s kid goes to Briarwood - said the policy laid out was more strict than last year’s regarding masks - he actually started contemplating home schooling upon initially seeing it

My kids go to Pelham - last year due to masking, they were virtual- this year, even with masks (put in place 3 days before school started due to Karen(s), they wanted to go - their response- not terrible but it still sucks -

UAB is also rolling out a program via a grant from the CDC where you can sign a waiver through your school to have your kid swabbed and tested for Covid because “they need to identify the silent spreaders” WTF

Much of the “data” surrounding this pandemic means nothing but it still is worth noting when their own data contradicts the official narrative.

Well, I wouldn't publicly brag on this, because the mask mongers may send some infected carriers your way, to promote their authoritarian cause.

I'm looking for Hoover's numbers and cannot find them, because I'm totally pissed off at their anti-science mask mandate. I'm sure you're correct though.

I found them. Hoover has 30 kids out with COVID, out of about 13,000.

2 teachers.

My kid is in a Hoover school as well. My understanding is some of these students were just because of contact, not a positive test. They said masks for thirty days, I guess we’ll see.
