He’s right Max. They have a list of all the decommits since 2016 on 247. Imagine what Coach O could have done with these decommitted players:

Michael Divinity
Ed Alexander
JaCoby Stevens
Lowell Narcisse
Kelvin Joseph
Kenan Jones
Derrick Stingley Jr
Jaquelin Roy
Major Burns

Clemson has been in the playoffs for six straight years with two championships. I suspect that would not be the case if the program had lose 60 players to decommitments.

Also wouldn’t be the case if they were in the SEC, but don’t let that ruin your obvious bias against O.

It's Not a silly stat to keep track of,

It's an extremely silly stat to keep without any context regarding the quality of players leaving and the quality of the players replacing them. Not all decomitments are equal.

None of these players are actually in the program.

It speaks more to the “under the table” and “back door” deals that other programs are doing.
Imagine if Ed O stepped up his deal game!

Those numbers would be 0/0 if they played in SECw.

Whitefoot

Hey It happen at times to decommit..

But It seems to be a trend, Maybe a Chance to to be in the LSU Program and get Scholarship does hold the weight it should hold If it can be given up so easily.

If playing Football at LSU is valuable , I feel it should be offefed to those who are serious and appreciate it.

And don't say it happens everywhere , Because LSU should't be put in that category. (a Also Ran) We want to win Championships , and you do that with Men not over hype kids , who can't make there mind up on a school or playing social media games.

These players and most all others committed during Covid and not seeing LSU’s or any campus. I’d expect most want to take official visits elsewhere.
That said Johnson’s “decommitment” is for way different reasons.

As the prior post shows, it's easier to get a higher class ranking by not using Clemson's unorhodox recruiting policy. If it were an actual advantage, other teams would adopt it. The number of decommitments has nothing to do with how many times Clemson has recently made the playoffs. It does however decrease the amount of time and effort the Clemson coaching staff need to spend on recruiting.

When Newman wide receiver A.J. Johnson withdrew his commitment to be a member of LSU's 2022 football class, he became the eighth player to do so this year and the 60th player to decommit from Ed Orgeron's six recruiting classes. This is among the nation's worst records for keeping "committed" players on board. By comparison, Clemson has had three decommits in the same timeframe. I understand Clemson Coach Dabo Sweeny insists all commited players promise to take no visits to other schools and end the recruitment process. Coach Orgeron should consider doing the same.

They just can't help it, dedicated Ed O haters are going to hate.

By the way, you dumb moron, it was the other way around. LSU withdrew its scholarship from Johnson.

Does that 60 number include kids who decommitted then signed with us like Myles Brennan? How many from the 2017 and 2018 classes?

Here's what you don't seem to be understanding. Not all decomitments are the player giving us the boot (making us an also ran). Without looking at the list of 60, I would guess more were guys we either told to look elsewhere or were replaced with players of equal quality than guys who we really wanted that went elsewhere.

Also, how many of the 60 were guys that ended up at LSU? I'll guess it's close to 10.

Like I said, it's a meaningless stat that lacks context and has zero to do with the stability of the program. There are plenty of things to criticize Orgeron about, but this certainly isn't one of them. We always wished Miles would be more cut throat with processing recruits. Well, decomitments is the product of that.

Way to document complete irrelevance.

This is an example like in a football game someone looks at stats but not the context to those stats. There's a lot more to decommits than just LSU "losing" them.

But, but but but O beat Bama and Clemson with this horrible commitment track record.
