But you work in Louisiana and are a Louisiana resident. So I understand that.

I guess I just didn't think about games checks and whatnot. I was thinking in terms of a salaried employee who travels around the US but is domiciled in one state. As a salesperson, I've never had to pay taxes in other state that the one I live, despite having to travel to numerous other states for work.

So about ten PG’s in that $30 million plus range prior to whatever Conley gets. For THIS team trying to get that type of player in, that’s not horrible or crippling. He will be a large expiring in the first year of Zion’s extension. If we could actually win some games, we could possibly do something major with that.

So looking at that list makes me really want to sign and trade Lonzo to the Pacers for Brogdon. He makes 21 million and is 8 years younger then Lowry.

Now, Lowry at 30 mil is an overpay, but doesn't seem like such a huge overpay after looking at that list. Hell, if we get him for 30 million, he wouldn't even be in the top 8 for PG salaries.

And that’s all I am saying. We are paying a premium, but not one that is outlandish. If $30 million is what it takes for us in our situation, I think you have to make it happen. And three years is better than four years. We can handle this deal.

That's really where the 3/90 we have been kicking around on here comes from.

I think this is what it takes and I’d be fine with it given that it seems like we’d still have some flexibility on top of that. Not many teams can say that.

I am not excited to pay Lowry 25 million a year at age 39 when our make or break Zion seasons are looming

Hope Miami outbids us

There are rumors that have been popping up on a Lonzo/Brogdon deal. Pacers fans are weirdly in favor of it. The things they think about Lonzo are…not accurate.

But the things they say about Brodgon are not any better than the things said here about Lonzo.

Lowry make $30.5 million in total compensation this past season, and people on this board think that he's now going to sign somewhere for less than that?

I mean people that cover contracts for a living expect 22-24 mill.

He's old.

That's the best case scenario. You have a great starting back court this year, and Brogdon is versatile enough to pick up slack as Lowry declines and you have to give NAW and Kira more minutes.

So older veterans who are not superstars always get raises well into their 30s?

His numbers last year were consistent with his career averages. If he's lost much, it's not obvious. I'm not at all saying that he should get a raise, but I don't see how his salary drops from $30 million to $24 million. I think he's going to get $30 million or very close to it. There's no way anyone gets him for $24.

Do you think CP3 will sigh for $40mil+ per season?

I think it's possible he goes for a relatively "low figure" to a contender in a top tier location.

Like every free agent before him, he will only come our way if we are offering the most money and the most yeara.

I could see another team getting him for about $25 million a year if the Pels were not involved. We will have to overpay. So, I see him getting $30 million from us.

If its the Pels you will end up being right because we will have to mad overpay.

Any other interested team and it will be 25 or less.

And if we are going to overpay, I want someone who is a bit younger. We may as well run it back with Zo at 20, and add other pieces.
