Wel we don’t go much of anywhere anyway. The farthest I really go is to James Drug store in Denham…. The only reason I would go to BR is my doctor or the General on Bluebonnet…. Other than that Walker has everything I need.( for now).

The Mall of Louisiana is turning into a zoo
I was shocked the last time I went. Hadn't been there in a long time, thought I was at a ghetto swap meet

My kids and their friend (all GenZ) are definitely anti-woke. They admit they are outnumbered and are extremely divided at school. Growing up we had cliques. In their schools it’s simply left or right and it’s intense.

Not to worry, Biden is putting Section 8 on steroids. He wants to make sure all areas are equally shitty. True equity.

Hard to believe so many normal people still live in BR. Y’all need to move. Sure, the trash will eventually follow via Section 8 but you’ll get some good living before that happens.

If you still live in BR, what makes you stay? There are so many better places to live and so many jobs out there, some remote. You don’t have to do it anymore. The private school factor alone should make you consider it. $15k a year for a shitty education isn’t something to brag about for life with your Catholic High fraternity.

Nope. That's the City of Baton Rouge. Not St. George, not unincorporated. The city annexed that part of I-10 to get The Advocate and the Walmart shopping center.

This is such a great analogy… I will be stealing this next time the topic comes up amongst my inner-circle.

There was some talk about the city taking over those motels due to being a public nuisance with all the crime but I’m not sure what happened with it

BATON ROUGE - Deputies are responding to a shooting Saturday along I-10 near Siegen Lane.
The shooting was reported around 10:30 p.m.
According to East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, two vehicles fired shots at one another. At least two people were hurt.
Traffic cameras show a visible police presence on the interstate.
It's only going to continue to get worse until/unless we start seeing some gentrification coming back in from surrounding areas (which may happen if Ascension goes through with their building moratorium and/or makes new building requirements which are too onerous to allow for the continued flood of people from EBR).

The city can’t unilaterally take over the hotels, and if they could exactly what good would that do? Half the city is decaying now.

Yes, they did, which is kinda funny when you consider that The Advocate will likely be bankrupt in the next 5 years.

I worked in that areas from 2010-2015 and some of trash that filtered out of those hotels were downright sickening. Thugs galore, but also strung out females in the gas station parking lots that would make my stomach turn. That Racetrak really attracted the trash in our wonderful community.

Have no fear the “white flight” areas have followed the same blueprint. The LP and AP will follow along the same path due to their inability to set zoning laws and keep out multi family developments.
Yup
And it's too late to fix it now

What’s going on in BR has nothing to do with Biden……

Have some family left in BR. I left years ago. My impression is that they are comfortable living in an ever shrinking bubble. After all, if they left, they'd lose their connections. You can't game a city you don't own. So they are stuck where they are. The BR establishment doesn't want or need change.
