The answer is Third Eye Blind, self-titled.
Third Eye Blind is a horrible band. That album is packed with greatness.
The End.

That’s not even their best album. Blind Man’s Zoo blows it away.

I'm starting to think this about Maroon 5. Every new song they put out makes me realize how much better their 1st album was.

Don’t know if they e already been mentioned, but it’s the first band & album that came to mind. Great album is pushing it, but I quite like it, and it has a strong nostalgia factor for me. Didn’t care for anything else by them. I guess There’s a few tracks on A Rush of Blood to the Head that I like.

Disagree, their first album was definitely their best, but I enjoyed the next two albums as well

There are lots of 90s Alt/College Bands that probably qualify here.
If we’re talking about one good album with no other good albums, I’ll say Everclear never had a record I listened to twice after Sparkle and Fade. Maybe some listenable pop-rock songs after, but never another album that I thought about listening to. I’ll still pull up S&F from time to time.
And Live as well. I love Throwing Copper. But outside of some decent singles before that album, everything else is kinda bad. Secret Samadhi was one of the biggest letdowns of my teen years. Just abysmal.

^In that same vein of thought:
Front to back, top to bottom, amazing album.
Everything else after has been hit or miss, yes they've had a litany of singles all more popular than any of the ones from their debut, but none of their albums afterward have been what I would even consider good. Much less great, as this one was. A whole lot of mediocrity.

How can you be a "Horrible band" and have a "great album". ?

This is actually a pretty solid one.
Outside of a few hits on other records, CRV was really their only all around ‘good’ album. Lotta filler on the other stuff.
