And how much will this vehicle cost? My current Truck will do 500 miles on a tank.

And your range doesn't fluctuate with the weather.

And you can refuel at any gas station in America.

Very dramatic. It takes like 20 mins for 80% charge. Send a couple emails, make a phone call, text a friend, watch a Facebook video. It’s not a deal and may actually be a decent rest break for long trips.

I can 100% fill my truck in under 10 minutes and drive 400 miles, if I’m going somewhere it s because I need to be there, not doing things other than driving, I can make all the calls I need while I’m rolling down the road. Also, why is the time to charge a Tesla always quoted for 80%charged, who stops for gas and only fills up to 3/4 of a tank?

Considering how many fricking questions I have to answer to get gas now they’re sure tying to make that process take as long as possible.

What kind of questions are you answering to buy gas? I walk to the counter, lay down my money and say 40 bucks on pump 6.

The entire process has become a clusterfrick:
Slide card, probably doesn’t read the first time or maybe it’s one of the new ones that you have to leave the card in. Either way it doesn’t tell you so trial and error.
Entire zip code.
Are you a rewards member?
Do you want to sign up to be a rewards member?
Select fuel grade.
Are you sure you don’t want to be a rewards member?
Put gas nozzle in car.
Squeeze and set handle holder.
Thinks for a few second then just as I turn away it disengages the handle stop so I have to go back and reset it.
Wait for gas to finish pumping.

There’s a company whose name I can’t recall who is working on a battery solution where you can pull in to a station and swap batteries in 90 seconds. Similar to swapping out your propane tank.

Factor in charge time, number of on site batteries needed to accomplish this if even s quarter of vehicles are replaced with electric, and this quickly becomes a stupid idea.

All of this, is why I still just use cash.

You would need a big workforce at every station, just to handle the batteries.

That's the new tech jobs they talk about. Mechanic at a service station.

Pretty sure their navigation system handles all of the where and when to charge for you, and the charging happens pretty quick at the super charge stations

Owning a horse is more expensive than owning a car.

Maybe a stupid question, but currently do you have to pay at these charging stations or just hook up for free? I saw a car charging at Whole Foods the other day in Houston and wondered about that. I have no idea how that works.

I would guess that more people don’t fill up all the way. Constantly seeing people putting $10 of gas in

Do you think that will become the new normal where are you just sit in your car for a couple of hours while your batteries charge that seems stupid to me
There are people who live in apartments who "stupidly" purchase a Tesla and have no charging station. Wait until the socialists pass a law that every apartment or rental house must be outfitted with a charger. That still won't solve the problem if it's a two or three car family.

Let alone when the reliability of the chargers means several are out of order at any given time. Look at air machines in gas stations now.

Link? Next car I get will be a Tesla. Not for eco reasons, I’m fully aware that the electricity comes from oil and gas, and the batteries come from cobalt mined in Africa.

I just move Tesla’s. I’ll install a charging station at my house and if I go on a road trip, which is rare, I’m confident I won’t have any trouble finding charging stations.

In most EV’s and especially Tesla’s you can get to 80% charge in 20 minutes while supercharging. In a Tesla that has 400 miles of range this is over 300 miles. That is more then enough to make it to the next supercharger in the US. Driving cross country in a Tesla is a non-issue.
