BMI is an antiquated measurement. I have no idea why they continue to use it, but as stated in the article it is a starting point. You are better off just measuring your waist than using a BMI Chart, or just take a look in the mirror. It honestly shouldn't take a chart to tell you that you are in shape, overweight, obese, etc.

I don’t disagree, but it’s easy for people to have a skewed perception of normal weight when overweight is the norm. BMI is useful enough for most of us as a basic guide, since it has such a large range.

At 6’1.5” and 208 today, the calculator has me at 26.7 BMI. it shows me to be OVERWEIGHT and should weigh between 144-194lbs. At 194, losing 14 lbs I’d be in the normal range. I’d look like a skeleton since I don’t look big now.
BTW, I fart in it’s general direction.

No, you wouldn't. I'm 6'2' and 185 and I don't look like skeleton. Not even close.

You have embraced fat acceptance. Here is your magazine cover.

It's not funny how I've gained weight during corona. Especially during lockdown. What to do??? Cook!!! I moved here for the food and learned to make it myself, no joke.

I don't want to defend this behavior though. Look at pics of Americans pre-1980, we were not this hefty. I work with a lot of foreigners, they aren't, either. This ain't the best thing for us.

Was going to post this. 185 is my ideal weight for my build at 6'2". I float in the 192-195 range on a regular basis, and can tell I need to lose a few. My issue is my knees won't let me run more the 1-2 times a week, doing some remodeling before I order my peloton

Based on the BMI chart, if I time it right, I could qualify

Well why don't you enlighten us, and give us your thoughts on "fat acceptance"?

People who are 6'0 205lbs are just as much to blame for fat acceptance as the weirdos who insist on putting obese women on fitness magazines

yea channing tatum, chris evans (captain america), bradley cooper are all just skeletons.

This is Harry Kane and his GF. He is 6'2 188 lbs of just pure skeleton.

Look in the mirror, that is what fat acceptance looks like.
