Let’s just be honest and not overly emotional. It happens...... that’s baseball.

I bet Hill doesn’t give up 8 runs in 1/3 of one inning again this year. We can talk about this or that, but Marceaux and Labas were outstanding.

This dude hasn’t help develop a pitcher since Nola, and I think Nola was too raw to ruin.

There’s a reason he’s still around. No head coaching offers, no pro offers. There are very few pitchers that actually improved while they were here that weren’t already studs.

*On contract.

*The expectations for LSU Baseball are not what they used to be.

That’s about all I got for now.

The beloved and tired early March baseball threads. They mean nothing. It’s like bitching about the Cardinals in a spring training game. We will inevitably win a lot of SEC series (against top 10 teams) and host a regional. This team is STACKED. If what I just said doesn’t happen, then I’ll be the first one making threads(probably not). But you can toss in or out the million baseball cliches every year and it won’t matter bc some people (65% of this board) will never comprehend that losing a bizarre early March series against ORU doesn’t fricking matter in a 60 game regular season schedule.

It does matter tho

It’s not hard to see the warts. Poor recruiting classes after that 17’ runner up run are showing it’s head.

56 regular season games composed of:

18 preseason non-conference games
30 SEC games + 8 mid-week games
SEC tourney
regionals
supers

Omaha

Pick where on the timeline you think is appropriate for a good personal melt down.

I ain’t melting until AT LEAST late April. But you put yourself through as much pain as you desire.

Because Doughty is hurt.

And because said DH is a proven upper classman who’s career average is close to .300 at LSU w/power from the left side. You don’t bench a guy like that after just 10 games.

Who doesn’t have warts? And I can compose plenty for the teams currently ranked ahead of us. And they will be much less costly now than later. How you think we have a talent problem on this team is mind boggling dude. When this team comes together and gets hot it will be amazing to watch.

I hate to break it to you, but not being able to hit quality pitching will be extremely costly in the SEC this year

It's the talent gap in the classes. Our talent is pretty much all very young.

Just needing host a regional to keep your job at LSU. Bananas

It matters when you’re using game performances to evaluate your players. Your starter got rocked in game 1 and pulled in the 1st inning after 8 runs and your closer has not had a decent outing all season. In a series deciding game, your lineup produced 1 run. Yes, it’s a long season, but no way you can say it doesn’t matter.

Cool. Let me know when this team doesn’t hit quality pitching. Struggling at times early against lesser talented pitching doesn’t not auto equate to what’s going to happen in the future.

Agreed. Unless there's just a rash of injuries, he needs to make it to Omaha for me this year considering what we've seen since the last time he made it.
