A friend’s mom passed away last night after being on a ventilator for almost two weeks. She now makes the third person I knew personally to pass away from complications of the virus. That seems like an excessive number for one person to me. How many have you known personally?
Before it’s asked:
Two were overweight and one was healthy but in her 70’s. The healthy elderly one and the one last night were on a ventilator for a while before getting worse and finally dying. One, who was very overweight, developed a cough with fever after taking care of her parents who had it. Two days after her symptoms started, she died in her sleep from suffocation after not being able to breathe. She went downhill very, very fast.

One immediate family member. Healthy in his early 70s. It destroyed his lungs. The doctors said it’s just bad luck for some.

One. My wife's cousin. I'm unsure if he had any pre-existing conditions. He was around 60. In the hospital for two weeks before being put on a vent for a day before dying.

I had like a great uncle or something die in a nursing home “from” Covid, but they straight up murdered the guy.
He was already pretty bad off physically and mentally, then you lock them up with no visitors and no outside food. Can’t even leave his room, no air, no sun, no exercise and shity cafeteria food diet.. not only would that drain the body physically but it sent him into depression and he gave up the will to fight.
So I ask you, was it Covid that killed him or the government forced Covid lockdowns
Edit- he was 79

None. No one I know personally.
And actually I’ve recently had a number of people close to me over the last few weeks who would be considered high risk all get over it without being hospitalized.

One that I knew well.
Our local welder/fabricator. He was in his late 50s. And basically healthy.
Also one of the warehouse workers at our local co-op. I just knew him in passing on a first name basis. He was older and overweight.
