I was stationed in San Antonio in 1985 when it snowed 13 and a half inches. Three people from my shop had their cars totaled because nobody knew how to drive in the snow in San Antonio.

Winky Dink and You was a CBS children's television show that aired from 1953 to 1957, on Saturday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Eastern / 9:30 Central.

The central gimmick of the show, praised by Microsoft mogul Bill Gates as "the first interactive TV show",[3] was the use of a "magic drawing screen"—a piece of vinyl plastic that stuck to the television screen via static electricity. A kit containing the screen and various Winky Dink crayons could be purchased for 50 cents. At a climactic scene in every Winky Dink short film, Winky would arrive on a scene that contained a connect-the-dots picture that could be navigated only with the help of viewers. Winky Dink then would prompt the children at home to complete the picture, and the finished result would help him continue the story. Examples included drawing a bridge to cross a river, using an axe to chop down a tree, or creating a cage t

My last bike was a HD VRod like this one….
Its fuel tank held just under 3.5 gallons of fuel. If I started out on a full tank, I could make it a little over 100 miles and I’d be looking for a gas station.

Dad, as USMC pilot, was stationed in Miami during the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis. His was a "special weapons squadron" (e.g. nukes). He is the only Marine to have dropped a nuke test weapon, and it was off an AD Skyraider while he was a member of the squadron.
His log books are interesting. Every day flights out of Miami for "training." Missile Crisis starts - no entries. A few weeks later, the "training" entries start again.
I asked but he would never tell me what was going on.

I think that both Archie pages are altered. I think his hand was moved to her butt in the "clean" one.

Minesweeping PBY Catalina. The ring is an electromagnetic coil. The plane had to fly low and slow enough to trigger the mines, but high enough not to be caught in the blast wave.

A little off subject, but my uncle was an engineer who worked on the Westinghouse satellite systems on nuclear submarines. He could never tell anyone - not even his wife - what he actually did, other than he worked on these satellite systems. My family was in Gettysburg visiting them one summer in the early 80's, and a white van pulled up to their house and three men came to the door and picked up my uncle. He returned 4-5 days later like nothing ever happened.
This same uncle had an autistic child (my cousin Richard). My Aunt Judy was late picking him up one day, so he went into every house in the neighborhood that was unlocked and turned on all the water faucets. Major damage. Pennsylvania is a pretty awesome state. Similar to the south outside of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, but with smallmouth bass.
