What a wonderful testimonial. I cried trading every word. How unbelievably lucky you were to have him as a father. I hope your story will inspire younger men to follow in his footsteps. He was very very fortunate to have you and his wonderful family around him as well. Thank you so much for sharing this story and May God bless and heal you moving forward. Time with our loved ones is truly a gift that is very special.

fishfighter was/is a TD.com legend. Never met him IRL as many did, but by all accounts, he was an awesome person. May he RIP and thoughts to you and your mom.

Thank you guys so much for all of the kind words. He touch so many people’s lives. He was so great. He will be so missed. I may pop on here from time to time to get some advice since I can’t ask him anymore. He’s no longer in pain. I told my mom I posted to let his TD people know and she was thankful. She said one day we are going to sit down and read them together to celebrate him.

Here’s the link to his obituary:

So sorry for you and your families loss. Seemed he was always willing to offer help to anyone that needed it. I mentioned going to tractor supply in New Roads one day before we got one here and he immediately emailed me wanting to give me a coupon he had. His generosity was second nature and a true testament of his character.

Thank you so much for sharing some of your memories with us. I am very glad he was able to come here and share stories and his outdoor experience.

I wish your family heartfelt condolences. I only knew of his online personality, but I can tell that he was an incredible man just by the message you have given this board.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Paul let my boys 4 and 5 and I stay in his home the first build. He worked with everyone in attendance at their level of understanding, reaching each with experience and wisdom. He had a gentle easy demeanor that draws people in. That weekend, and the benefit for EJW were the only 2 times I was blessed to spend time with him. Of course, his sage advice and life weathered perspective typed on these pages was always a welcome addition. He will be dearly missed.

Rest peacefully fishfighter. May God hold and keep your family.
