what the hell does it even matter. Kickers watch the ball when they make contact. Lighting doesn’t matter.

I see what you mean, part of is that florida was kicking to the opposite end of the field. When you see the endzone view of the florida kick you can see the led screen and lights on the opposite end. Wouldn't put it past the operators to do that though. Little gamesmanship

Was there a lot more light? Yes. The video board is in that end zone. No call on FL. here.

Meh. They call it home field advantage for a reason.

One kicker was kicking into the video board and the other kicked on the opposite end of the field.

how the frick they can be allowed to basically use strobe lights to blind our kickers is an unfair advantage you different then using lasers or other illegal actions

y’all also have to realize the camera distorts and flares it more so than the naked eye does.
you’d have to ask someone that was on the field if they even saw it as anything abnormal.

as in from field level it may have just looked like the scoreboard and video board was on and nothing unusual.

The kicks were attempted at different end zones, which have different lighting displays.

Yea but even if you ignore the video board, OP still has a point when you compare those lights that you would think would be a 1:1 comparison. i mean, those are the ones behind the actual field goal

those are the same type banners that circle Tiger Stadium. They are flashing different things through out the game.

I’d be interested to hear Cade York’s opinion on whether it hurt his chances.

From what I’m hearing, a kicker doesn’t look at the goal posts when going through his motions to execute the kick.

This is not true. Higher light levels in fog results in far more reflected light from all angles greatly reducing the ability to see white goal posts.
This is why low beams on auto lights are advised when driving in fog.

Trje, when looking from behind the light source, as when driving. Not so much when looking into the light source.

I wondered about this during the game, as that shite was blinding when we were trying to drive the ball. I noticed it during the Army-Navy game too.

I'm thinking the cameras were still set to auto-exposure (or whatever), and being focused on the field it made the lights 10x as bright. I don't think it looked like that in person.

Could it just be that there are more ad banners on the side of the field that we kicked to?

I’m sure that’s it. Doubt it was intentional.
