Surprisingly I've had a great year actually.

I still weep for what I'm seeing and feel for the majority. I've just been lucky that this hasn't affected me much.
This, but not literally weeping.

Got another grandchild. Healthy, hearty, and happy!

Haven’t travelled much and therefore haven’t seen folks I care about.

Lost the Uncle I’m named after to natural causes at age 93.

Had a good year at work & net worth wise.

1/13/20 was a good day to be in the Louisiana Superdome.

<—Have run at least a 5k every day of 2020 (so far).

Delt with 2 Hurricanes in SW LA. Made it ok with Laura, but Delta screwed my house up. Have a crew working on my roof as we speak. Lost my grandfather in law 3 weeks ago who treated me like one of his own grandchildren. Plus side is work hasn’t slowed down which is a positive highlight. Another thing is with all this Covid stuff I haven’t been into sports like I normally am this year which now have been doing more things. I guess you can say 2020 has been a glass half empty half full kind of thing.

I got a jump start on the year. When 2020 rang in I was in a medically induced coma due to having survived a plane crash but being burned on 75% of my body (among other injuries). I lost one of my best friends and have been in a dog fight ever since. A cousin has a daughter fighting cancer since birth. Add in COVID and economy and 2020 has tried its best.
I must say that 2020 has been a good opportunity to realign towards what matters most in life and to not worry about bad things happening. They always do! What matters is how you respond.
It was amazing to witness my family’s response to my accident. They just strapped it up and kept rolling. Same with the people I work with. It has been disheartening to watch so many people live in fear of the inevitable- death- to the point that they are willing to stop living!
2021 will come, and with it, more adversity. I say bring it on!!! I’ll kick its arse too, God willing

Worst year of my life.

Was set to elope in Asia when this hit. This has been hard for my gf and I. Can't believe we are still together. Will the new draconian measures finish it off?

Managed a company move that took my summer. Everyone around me seems to have more time but I'm Working harder and making less.

I've had better and worse years than 2020. Most have what has gone bad was unforeseen and planning in other areas helped make the bad things manageable.

I’ll bring some positivity into the chat.

“Lost” my job only to be reassigned to a position that, as it turns out, I enjoy and excel at more than I thought possible.

Received a raise.

Made some smart moves in the market that paid well on the short term.

Got engaged in November.

It wasn’t all bad.

I didn’t know the back story when I posted in your original thread. I’m not sure of your interest in her but I’d give it a shot. You get a trade in for free.

Fortunately, I've been blessed with no adverse impact.

While I had retirement on my radar, it was still a few years away. My company offered a retirement package that was too good to pass up, so here I am.

Completing projects around my house that I've put off and been going to the gym on a much more regular basis.

I don't know anybody from my ex-coworkers, social circle, nor immediate family that has had COVID. That said, I know people who know people that have had COVID.

Again, I've been blessed and lucky and just keep my head low and my mouth shut as I've weathered this better than too many.

God Bless All.

Lost my job six months ago, looks like I might have something for January lined up. Losing your career sucks, but the company is toxic with no chance of changing.

Upstream oil and gas needed this. Engineers need to really think about a career in oil and only pursue a career if you’re passionate as opportunities will forever be limited.

Oh, and I totally forgot to mention the part about Covid forcing me to cancel a 2-week trip to Italy that I had been planning for 2 years. Canceled a couple other trips also.

The total sum of my vacations in 2020? Two days in Gulf Shores.

No Butters is still around, he’s 13 and a little grumpy old pug that is adjusting to his new home.

It was our lab mix that died from a liver mass. Butters and him basically grew up together

Been a great year for my family. Better health, better food, more exercise, more time outdoors, less drinking, plenty of income, more phone calls with parents, closer family, better relationship with wife, read some outstanding books.
