OSU does well in bowl games, too, just not against the SEC.

Actually, Wisky was our third best team, and Arky was your runner-up in 06, so...

Not true. Only because of the east-west set-up could anyone say arky was a runner-up. There were 3 teams in the east better than them. At best arky was #4 in the sec that year. I don't remember the exact records or rankings and don't feel like looking it up, but i am confident in this comment.

I know. Just making a point that it wasn't our second playing your eighth.

Hell, take Ohio State out of the equation and the Big10>SEC in bowl games the past two years.

I find it funny no one else commented on this statement... Taking OSU out of the equation makes the Big Ten better...

I'm going to say that in 2006 Arkansas conference record was 7-1 Inclding a win over SEC EAST #2 Tennesee 31-14 who was ranked #13. The Vols finished 5-3 in the east behind UF. Arkansas suffered and early loss to USC before running off 10 straight to make them 10-1. They dropped thier last SEC west game to #9 LSU 31-26, before losing in the championship game to UF 38-28. They then lost to Wisconsin to finish 10-4.

How were they not second in the SEC if the beat UT who finished second in the east and THEY won the west in 2006?

Against the SEC the past two years, it does.

Against the rest of the nation, it doesn't.
Can't explain it and....

it sucks.

OK, here goes. First of all, the best I say they could be listed, after hearing your details, would be #3. And you should agree with me. Just like last year UGA would be considered #2. UT lost to us in the SCG, thus moving UGA up to the #2 SEC spot. Well, in 06 Arky lost in SCG, thus moving LSU up to the #2 spot. Does that make sense?

No, it wouldnt. It would have moved Auburn up to the #2 slot in the West, because they defeated LSU 7-3 in 2006. Arkansas defeated Auburn 27-10 that same season. Based on the result of the SCG

#1 Florida
#2 Arkansas
#3 Auburn
#4 LSU
#5 UT

But LSU beat Arky, so that wouldn't work either. FWIW.

Either way, at worse without however you want to rank it, it was the #3 SEC getting beat by the #3 Big10, thus negating the retarded arse "#2 playing our #8" comment.

Cosmo, yes it works because Arkansas and LSU are both in the West, and Arkansas won the west. It is not what happened in one game, it's how the season went.

NOLA, if my memory serves me correct, in 06 LSU went to the Sugar Bowl (a BCS bowl) and beat Notre Dame. Do you think the Sugar Bowl would select an at-large #4 SEC team? If Arky was SEC #2 don't you think they would have went to the Sugar?

^^^ No. Think about it, LSU or Arky in New Orleans who is bringing more $$$$ in for that game?

But like stated, it's an ongoing debate. The fact is in 2006 Arkansas was AT WORST a #4 team in the SEC not at best. Thats the point I'm making.

That's as crazy as the Arky #8 comment (which I agree with you is rediculous). You make all these adjustments as to who is higher than who based on head to head play, then you dismiss it in this comment and say it's not what happened in 1 game. WTF?

Arky was 7-1 in the SEC but 10-4 overall.

^^^ Right, because when I tried to state that Arky was 7-1 in the conference, I was told that it is because the conference is split in 2 divisions. So, I went ahead and looked at what Arky did against the SEC #2 which was UT.

Are you serious? You need to stop now before you keep embarassing yourself. Arkansas brings more money by millions and millions!! Do you know how many times the Sugar has turned us down because we don't bring the bucks in? Hell, we all drive up the night before the game and then drive back to our homes. C'mon man.
