That’s what I would do regardless of today’s result.

No more 11-run 1st innings, no more ginger carrot topped players, no more dogs.

Screw Kershaw’s choking arse.

Nah, we can't afford to fall down 3-2.

My prediction might die in the early minutes, but I think Bryce goes out and keeps us in this game and it'll be up to the bats.

Ynoa going on 3 days rest after throwing 92 pitches might be dangerous in a do or die spot.

Ynoa will be fine as long as he only goes 2 innings or so.

I would want Ynoa once through the lineup with Matzek to follow.

Mark Bowman tweet:

Snitker said Max Fried will not be brought back on short rest to start Game 5.

We’re going to punt games 4-5 and put all our eggs in the Fried/Anderson basket.

I don’t see it that way at all

Do we have any other baskets to put eggs in?

Yeah, I'm not really seeing how people think it makes a difference in terms of that whether we start them in games 5 and 6 or 6 and 7, we are still counting on them to win either way. But if we give them normal rest and start them 6 and 7 we have a better shot to win.

Definitely. What advantage is there to throw Fried and Anderson on short rest at this point? Only reason to do that would be if we were facing elimination. But since we are up 2-1, let’s hope our offense can carry us to at least 1 win in the next day days. And if they don’t, at least we know we will be getting a fully rested Fried and Anderson in games 6 and 7 to give us a chance.

It's a players game.

Snit is making the right call by holding Fried and Anderson for Games 6 and 7. It keeps them in their normal pitching routines and is our best chance for either of them to be successful.

If we win, everyone will credit the players for balling out and overcoming the Dodgers.

If we lose, everyone will blame Snit.... which is rediculous.

His starting rotation for the NLCS has been
#1 2nd year pitcher
#2 Rookie
#3 Rookie
#4 Rookie

And he has NO OTHER options....

Yep and people will blame Snit for this because his face is the public figurehead that's on TV, but let AA off the hook.

Fried is a 3rd year pitcher, but still...

AA fricked up the pitching staff big time by doing absolutely nothing at the deadline. Our rotation was actually in worse shape at the time because Anderson had made just one start to that point.

Correck!

Snit has been in this game his whole life. I'll trust his experience, information and instict over the peanut gallery's any day of the week.

Like you said, Snit is managing the roster that was put together for him by AA.... and he's done a damn good job of that

Meh... pitching Shane Greene yesterday was odd. Pitching Tomlin over Greene and Webb on Tuesday was idiotic.

He's not without fault, I just think the bigger issue is AA's unwillingness to improve the rotation compared to Snit's everyday managing.

With all that said, we're 2 wins away from the World Series in what is the toughest postseason to navigate through in baseball history. They're both doing something right.

People also need to realize, to AA's discredit, that Fried was not going to be counted on to be our #1 or even #2 guy. He was coming off 2019 with a over 4 ERA and didn't even start a game vs. the Cardinals for us. We lost Keuchel (which, fair or not, in hindsight is an awful move), Folty was always a headcase, and we got 2 veterans way past their prime who didn't contribute anything of note.

The only reason we have a legit #2 is because a ROOKIE (who just made his 7th, 8th, and 9th CAREER starts in the postseason) is absolutely smashing every expectation we could have had for him. And he was only called up due to desperation.

AA is extremely lucky Fried has pitched his butt off and Anderson came out of nowhere. This year could have been way different.

I don't agree with everything Snit does but he and Kranitz have made chicken salad out of you know what.
