Warstic Bonesaber....The Baseball Bat Bro's love this bat.
Maybe the Gunner if he's a power hitter.

Back when you had to produce power, not buy it.
The bats from the 90s had way way more pop than bats do now
They started making them tone them down across the board, was injuring kids routinely from line drives to 3rd/1st and Pitcher.
Easton reflex carbon fiber.....best bat of all time

Asa recovering travel ball dad I find this thread hilarious. Mainly because it's true.

Genuine 1983 Easton.
Used both in high school and hit tons of homers. (Tons = 5 or 6)

It's truly amazing anyone from older generations ever made it to the bigs. All they had was plain ole Worth bats that had been used for years and years by the city's youth baseball teams.

my boy has busted three, with no temps below 50.
They bust often.
They certainly break, but not b/c of cold weather, right?
Another posted alluded to composite bats being more fragile in fall cold. We have broken multiple Zens, a Quatro, and an early model Combat, but all in summer heat. Temperature made no difference in my experience.
Bat makers are surely thrilled with the phase out of 2 1/4" bats, which were much more durable.

The 1997 team put on an impressive display of power, hitting an NCAA record 188 home runs, including one in each of the 70 games they played that season.

He’s 10. Hits for power in the 3/4 hole
My son is 10 and also hits in the 4 hole. He has the posey. I personally don’t think a 10 year old has the power to get the benefit out of a composite bat yet. He does have a combat maxim that he uses a lot in practice because it stings his hands when he miss hits it

You are gonna get hammered by these folks here..
Honest answer for a 10 yr old. Get something that is a -10 weight.
4 top bats for that age range is Cat7 silver edition and Cat9 black. Both very similar in feel. The cat7 is 4 yrs proven hot. The cat9 is brand new so not a lot of history. Both are alloys $100 difference to gamble.
Better/hotter bat is CF ZEN and The Goods by demarini. Both are composites. They are prone to break and you only get 1 send on the warranty. They are way hotter than the CATs but even the manufacturer only recommends for game use only due to high breakage rate. $100 more than the cat9

know the composite had a break in period but has a nice long sweet spot and a little more pop
A break in period for a baseball bat?
My sons Easton and Dinger never had to break in a bat

Well shite I need glasses I thought the title said ‘hats’
Unfortunately- I can’t help you with either one
Can he go to the Marucci place and try out different bats in the cages? I’m not familiar with any of this stuff but my brother and nephew are big into it
