Beagle or Mini Goldendoodle

In the market for a dog for the kids and narrowed it down to these two options. Kids are under 5, and he/she would stay inside. Are there any reputable breeders within a couple hours of Baton Rouge? I've found one of each so far.

I’ve had labs my entire life, but just got a sheepadoodle in May (5 months old now). No shedding is a game changer. Also, this is the smartest dog I’ve ever had.
I’d do the doodle.
I’d do the doodle.

Young beagles are adorable and friendly and lively but they are also completely insane and a pain in the arse. I have had 5 in my life.
There's two types-
1- dumb as a rock and worthless
2- smarter than most humans but batshit crazy
Eta- of the 5 I have had, only 1 was a perfect balance of both.

I had a laid back beagle.
I had a beagle that told me he was in Nam and it wouldn’t bother him to kill again.
The one I have now is definitely a reincarnated mooslim terrorist.
I love beagles anyway.

Gf bought a male toy poodle that is absolutely adorable and great around kids/other dogs but isn't the most outdoor friendly pet on hikes/walks/out at the camp. I got a male beagle that is great for anything out doors, was my parents' best friend, and smart as a whip, but would wake the neighbors if he saw a shadow.

I have 2 beagles and love them.
But damn they shed a lot.
I would take that into consideration.

My beagle is 3 and lives free to roam since we’ve had her. She’s absolutely smart and wants to do nothing but lay around or go for a ride. She will go in the woods and chase stuff now and then, but never far. My kids love her and one of the best dogs I’ve ever had

We have a 30 pound goldendoodle. Trust me, get one and stay away from Beagles. She is by far the best dog I have ever had and doesn't shed at all. F1B is the ticket on that. (goldendoodle mom and mini poodle dad)

We have a Labradoodle.
She's crazy smart but she is an F1 (father poodle, mom lab). She sheds like crazy.
So, just know you have to get one on down the line to get one that doesn't shed.
But she has an amazing personality. Very funny.

We have a 25 lb 3-year-old mini goldendoodle in the house and he is the best dog we have ever had. Not a guard dog though, as everyone who comes in our house is his new best friend. No shedding whatsoever is what originally got me to agree to get the dog.

Where did you get it from?

What breeder did you use?

I doubt I'll ever get another dog that sheds. I've had several golden retrievers and I won't likely have another.

Look up Town Creek Goldendoodles on Facebook.

I have a goldendoodle. It’s about 30lbs. It was supposed to be a medium litter but I must have gotten the runt. She is smaller for a medium sized doodle. We got the F1b genetics and she does not shed. That is my favorite part of having one. She is a great dog though. Smart and very good with my kids. Perfect dog for us. We got ours from a breeder in Weatherford, TX (I think that’s the town). Lonestar Doodles was the breeders name.

Sorry, just saw this. The breeder is Shady Oaks Goldendoodles in Orange, TX. She really is the best, most well behaved and lovable dog I have ever had, and I grew up with and around a bunch of dogs. We have 2 boys, 12 and 9 and she is almost 3. She is great with them and will play as much or as little as they want with her.

I have a full size doodle and highly recommend them. They are best buddy a child could have.
