Their delusion is rivaled only by Bama, Ole Miss, and Notre Dame.

Actually, for the most part they are agreeing that it isn't that big of deal since LSU is not offering these guys and are recruiting more nationally.

The only positive is that there staff is adapting to not getting there guys out of Texas and are coming to Louisiana to get some quality players and establishing some relationships.

i love how some are using words like "steal" and "raid" like LSU is defenseless or something. im glad most see it for what it is: accepting our leftovers with a smile

I think there are a couple that got a little too excited, but I don't think anyone over there thinks we are "outrecruiting" LSU.

If anything, we're happy to reopen a Louisiana connection that we had throughout the late 80s and 90s. Louisiana has a deep talent pool this year. I believe Jonathan Stewart and Patrick Lewis will be great players in college.

Best of luck this upcoming season.

I know my reading comprehension is still pretty good. What I read wasn't delusional at all. They acknowledge that they can't out recruit LSU in Texas much less Louisiana, but they are happy to get the leftovers that LSU can't take. I'd say those guys are nowhere near Ala with delusionary thoughts. I agree with them. In fact, I'd say some comments in this thread alone are more delusionary than the ones on the A&M thread.

The thing is though, Texas is so deep every year you shouldn't have to do this.

A&M should make a nice living off of the in state kids Texas passes on. You'd be better served trying close boarders so to speak.

I agree Cash. However, when you can establish ties in neighboring states, it doesn't hurt.

And for the record, Jonathan Stewart was the best LB on the board that we were recruiting... including the kids from Texas.

It reminds me of alabama fans... anytime they get a recruit from outside alabama they think they have a "pipeline" going.

Not much delusion there. These guys seem to be calling it right. I've read too many Alabama boards in my day to say anything negative about what these guys are saying. They actually make sense.

Man, I wish that we could get a home and home with Texas A&M again. Those were some great games in the 80's and 90's. Even when they were beating us during the Hallman years, I still enjoyed it. Hallman beat them once, didn't he, like in '91 or something?

Texas A&M would actually make a great natural rivalry and would be a good OOC game every year.

You guys won in '90 and we won from 91-95. In the 80s we flipped flopped years a lot. We won 89, you guys won 87-88, I believe we won 85-86.

And yes, despite the fact that you guys would beat our arse right now, I want the rivalry to come back. Nothing like starting off the year in game 1 against the Tigers. Good times!

The SEC does a good job of picking LA clean. There are plenty of players to go around between Texas and Louisiana. With LSU recruiting more nationally, that leaves some kids like Patrick Lewis and Jonathon Stewart out there for us to jump on

what? this guy is talking out of his fricking arse

That would be great. Let's you and I negotiate the terms and get it done! Our schools can't seem to do it!
