I am new to Lafayette and craving some good mediterranean food. What are the names of the best places in the City to get all of the usual suspects: schwarmma, hummus, grape leaves, gyro, etc?
Thanks
Thanks

Poseidon's and Zorba's are my high tier 1, Cedar Grocery is my low tier 1.
Athena is high tier 2, Zeus is low tier 2/tier 3.
Athena buffet on Amb Caffery is also legit lunch spot.
Central Pizza also has a legit chicken shawarma pita.

Southern Foodways Alliance just had a podcast about such places in Lafayette. Worth a 22 minute listen.
Cajun Kibbe: Eating Lebanese in Louisiana
quote:
On the outskirts of Lafayette, Louisiana—nestled among the Popeyes and Canes—are a bounty of restaurants named after gods and goddesses, and seemingly inspired by ancient civilizations. On this episode of Gravy, we visit Zeus Café and Cedar Deli and visit with the Reggie family to learn more about how Lebanese food became Lafayette foodways.

Poseidon’s. No one is a close second. Aristos’ (owner) food is the best.

Has anyone tried Tabbouleh on Ambassador across from Athena? I feel sorry for them because they opened right when the whole CORONA thing hit.
