I heard similar stories of this from my dad. He tells all kinds of horror stories about Rita and thinks it was worse than Katrina based on what he saw. At least his experiences with it not the known damage. Gustav gives me PTSD when I think about it tbh. I hate hurricane season. Only time I get anxiety.

Power restoration will be much slower too because of the fricking pandemic. The crews are only working with 1 person at a time. At least they are for Entergy. Going to be a pain in the arse.

Yeah. That’s not true

Yes I do I know someone that works with them. This is what was told. They're not restoring power for the storm tomorrow unless it's low winds which it probably will be. They also even called and said this that their Covid-19 procedure will slow restoration down as to not put their workers at risk.

The basics of it were if your power went out tomorrow with damage like trees on your line they're not even bothering unless it was a significant amount of customers without power until at least Thursday minimum.

I find most of that hard to believe.

Didn’t really care until I bought my first house.

REALLY started caring once I built my own patio and a nice shed

Lake Charles hasn’t left the discussion all day long. Landfall and “bullseye” has changed from Beaumont to Vermillion Bay 5 times, but guess who’s in the middle.

You guys in LC should definitely be prepping like a Cat 3 to low end 4 is heading your way.

Might be weaker. Might miss you with the worst wind. Hope for the best. Prep for the worst.

This deuce feller is quite uneducated on the procedures and policies and how storm restoration works.

Had it not been for the pump
failures in NOLA, Katrina would have been an afterthought. Katrina wrecked the MS gulf coast as Rita wrecked W LA and SE Texas. This did not jibe with the get Bush media push so nationally it was seriously underreported.

I agree, I can tell he isn’t in this business. Another example of spreading rumors of “1st hand” info.
