I suppose they figure they can defund the police now, which will not be enough to impact the election.
IF they get #BidenPuppet in the WH, knowing that a nationwide crime spike is certain with the reduction of LE assets in many cities, they can push gun control as the solution.
Elegant and brilliant in a way.

MI state constitution put certain guarantees in place for worker pensions.
It was likely aimed at the Big Three but Detroit itself was the one who would have taken advantage of it.

Absolutely this.
The wave of gun violence to arise from police de-funding will serve as the political "main tent pole" of the program to eradicate the Second Amendment.
THEN after the Marxists have consolidated enough political power to sustain their power without the threat of an election that might put them out of power, well, after that point in time, you won't have to worry about hearing about "gun violence" ever again from your Mass Media, because it will never be reported by mass media or social media.

Well, well...if it isn't the consequences of my own actions

and now that will be virtually all you get in new cadet classes
Decent people are not going to mess with all the bullshite but you will still get the ones who get off on the power trip because they don't have power tripping alternatives.

And, the "decent people" should have been calling out the assholes instead of looking for that "thin blue line" bullshite.
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Well, I don't want to hear about all those "good cops" if they did nothing to rid us of the assholes.
I am NOT BLM....I am NOT anti-police. I AM tired of the thin blue line and "obey me" cops that overstep their legal authority and are not called out for it by their colleagues.

I don't plan to visit NYC again.
Wife and I and two of our kids went in 2018. Glad we got to see it while things were relatively normal. Really enjoyed the trip and had plans to return one day. But no more. May as well vacation in Fallujah if you want to dodge bullets.

It should now be much easier for starving people to get bread to feed their families!

I don't support cops to the extent of covering up for the bad ones either.
You are going to get a lot more bad ones going forward.
After all this recent bullshite their bunker mentality seems justified.

The municipalities have all the authority in the world to change policy, so what has been stopping them?
Heck, generally speaking I don't care if there is no police in most of the cities, although the federal government does have some indirect responsibility to protect the lives of citizens.
These mayors are blaming the police, yet they are policy makers for the police.... its Zimbabwean-ism.

Make no mistake, there will be a police force. The goal is a new, federalized police force that will carry out the enforcement of the state's left wing objectives and mandates.

This is definitely part of the problem. I have a lot of family & friends that are police and police supporters. They are the first ones to chirp/post whenever they feel a cop was unfairly punished, gets bad publicity, or is killed. But, whenever a cop is in the wrong, they are no where to be found.

Without drastic changes to the constitution, that's not directly possible.
A better approach is the red states start ejecting the wacko states from the Union i.e. California, New York, Illinois, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado come to mind.

They will put the Constitution in the shredder the first chance they get.

Yeah well imagine democrat controlled house and senate with executive branch. So D.C.becomes a state, Supreme court increased to sway the rulings left... there’s your drastic change that is very much within reach.
