Well, the SLI guys are supposedly walking around with meat leaf dicks. Saying that, I'd like to hear a bit more about what is being said around the campfire (southern Arkansas) than comparing dick sizes.

After a too long afternoon nap, I awake with the question,

"What is Exxon, Tetra and perhaps Tesla doing that makes any of us believe that they are closer to the target of production than SLI? Yes, they had a few PR's that we were dreaming of hearing but so far, how are they any closer to revenue than SLI is?"

Besides Tesla breaking ground, the deep pockets of Exxon and Tesla are more inspiring.

Not disagreeing, but is Koch nothing?

Koch is definitely something which is weird to me. Why, after Koch's investment, did they miss such an important milestone?

The "waiting on equipment pricing" struck me as odd considering Koch's ability to do a lot of conventional fabrication and their "stroke" with vendors.

I'm extremely disappointed in the snail's pace and missing deadlines of SLI, but it occurred to me this could be a good thing. Would the share price have jumped more if the DFS results were release a month ago or next week?

DFS positive results may have been somewhat baked into the current price, but now there are more eyes on the area, would a positive DFS result have more pop? Just a thought.

Edit: just got an email that my lending rate dropped, after getting notice last week that half my shares are returned to me

I share your question Grassy. Will the next guy be able to bypass the 3-year pilot operation that SLI has had to demonstrate? Then again, would less than 3 years of pilot testing have satisfied the AOGC if SLI's studies/funding were ready sooner?

I don't understand this shelf offering business. The BNP Paribas PR says "The debt financing will be used to fund the majority of the Company’s proposed first commercial project, the Lanxess 1A Project..." so why are we talking about a dilutive shelf offering? Is it like a huge emergency fund that you hope not to need/use?

Either way, I still don't see a former Koch president/acquisitions guy coming to SLI just to watch the walls close in until Exxon and co squish us.

Edited last sentence for clarity.

Unless he’s coming in to try and save their investment? Lol sorry that was my devils advocate thought all along. I hope I’m wrong.

I really hope the delay here is all Mintak just shopping the DFS for investors.

SLI has been there a long time not to be in the middle of all of this! I think it’s coming! But what do I know?

Koch is definitely not worried about trying to “save” this investment. They’ve invested peanuts, for them. It’s a rounding error. Not saying there isn’t a purpose to it, but it isn’t to ‘save’ the 40% loss on 0.5% of the company. If they think SLi doesn’t work they just cut that loss and move on. They’re still interested which means something is there.

I hope we get news soon, and I’ll probably send a more pointed email next week if it doesn’t happen….heck I’ll probably send Mintak a text, even name drop TD if I have to. He knows we take those caps seriously.

But none of the Exxon/Tetra/etc news or rumors has me concerned. They can do whatever the hell they want. It’d be like declining an early stake in BP because Exxon and Shell already had established big positions. Plenty of lithium demand to go around.

Thank you for your interest in and support of Standard Lithium. While delayed from the earlier expectation in calendar Q2, the July 5 press release below provided an update to the expected timeline into early calendar Q3 for the outstanding feasibility studies for both the LANXESS and SW Arkansas projects. For some context concerning the delay, you refer to Andy Robinson quote toward the end of that press release (full press release linked below):

…Dr. Robinson shared: “We await final vendor pricing for our LANXESS Project DFS and for critical, third-party analytical data from the SWA drilling work for the PFS. We have analysed all of the brine samples from SWA at our own analytical facility and anticipate sharing the data once we receive verification from the external laboratory. We continue to expect our flagship Arkansas projects to be meaningful contributors to U.S. lithium production in the coming decades.”

Standard Lithium Enhances Leadership with Appointment of David Park as Senior Strategic Advisor :: Standard Lithium Ltd. (SLI)

As for press, Standard Lithium did receive prominent mention in a WSJ July 20 article, including some discussion of activities plans from interviewing the CEO:
This Arkansas Town Could Become the Epicenter of a U.S. Lithium Boom
Companies such as Exxon Mobil plan to extract lithium from brine water to help power electric vehicles

When there is news, of course it will be broadly disseminated to the market. In the interim, please feel free to call us if you have any questions.

They've got a week and a half left to hit "early calendar Q3" for those studies. After missing the Q2 deadline, then providing this latest deadline less than a month ago, they're going to look shady and/or amateurish if they miss this one too.

the problem is that when there are no progress updates or news, there is nothing for us to do but speculate. and when deadlines like this are missed, maybe twice for this particular deadline, the speculation can be negative.

I suppose there are several options:
1. they are waiting on equipment pricing and outside lab verification as they said
2. they have this information and its a lot more expensive than originally anticipated. they are rebidding or value-engineering
3. there is a major problem with their technology that makes them less competitive with someone like IBAT
4. they are shopping for a buyer. not sure why this would affect the DFS, though.

Maybe im way off or being too pessimistic

I hadn’t thought from this angle so thank you for that. Mike has a point, Koch’s 100m investment is the equivalent of a company with 100k in annual revenue putting up $85. I wonder how much pull Koch has in any acquisition decision and if they are dead set on seeing SLI grow independently or what sort of terms would be acceptable to them for a buyout..

Can someone refresh me on their work in the Mojave desert? Wasn't there another DLE company doing work out there that flopped?

I'd just like to see more progress reports on actual lithium extraction even if the have to pump it back into the ground than more conferences and such. Concrete proofs are what the market needs.

DFS coming soon but deadlines are slippery here.

The move to explore extremely rich lithium aquifers in Texas while quietly acquiring mineral rights gives me hope.
