BJ's Brewhouse... from the horse's mouth

I am a server at BJ's... I know the reviews we get about the service...A LOT of publications have been feeling a similar notion to what y'all have been saying, but please give us a little time to weed out the bad employees... Our company has VERY strong EOE standards and they bascially hire anyone that walks in the door... Management has since raised the standards and are currently only hiring EXPERIENCED servers...
I have been there since day 1 and can recall just about all of the horror stories many of you have published! For that I personally apologize... I am a trainer there and I have trained some "special" people that I did not reccomend for serving that still ended up on the floor...
The job is very technical, even for a waiting job... I have been employed with Mike Anderson's, Copeland's, and a few other smaller ones; but this restaurant is by far the most diverse in terms of menu and drink selection
Please dont write us off yet, we are getting better at hiring people and we plan to be ready and strongly staffed for football season! Thanks everyone!

Don't plan on it!
I WANT BJ's to succeed.
The food is GREAT and so is the beer.
What what's up with Nitwit always being out?
I'm probably going to go there tomorrow, before I see the dark knight.

Get off the computer and get back to work!
I ordered a Nitwit an hour ago.

Why don't you just let us know when you work all the kinks out. I plan on going back when the service picks up. It was horrendous when I went.

Good luck to y'all. The night I went, it was pakced with folks. Looks like y'all have a winner.

Went today. Food was very good. Server had the personality of a robot, but was actually spot on with the service itself.

Alright...to answer all the beer/ other out of stock questions:
Baton Rouge location is doing EXTREMLY well in terms of sales... Nit Wit is a seasonal beer and those usually dont fare well in other locations; that's why the hostesses do their little schpiel when you get seated... HOWEVER, they didnt anticipate the SOUTH! We DRINK! SO we have been on back order for a while! The season is almost over (July 31 i think) so we may not get anymore, IDK... But if/when we do, I will let everyone know!

When I went (first week) my meal took forEVER to come out. But I didn't mind - I realized that was all part of the first week open deal.
But, the manager/asst mgr/etc kept coming around and apologizing over and over. It was like, look, say it once to inform me and quit harping on it.
Plus, the waitress kept saying your food will be out in a minute. Not that it matters to much to me, but it does sound a lot better to say your meal will be out shortly or your lunch (or dinner) will be out soon. Not complaining - just offering suggestions since you are the trainer.
