I live 10-15 minutes away so it’s nbd for me to go from time to time .
Just reporting what I’ve seen..... that’s definitely the type that drives great distances like that and drives the demand and pricing way up

I don’t get the problem with this. This is like the people who bitch about not being able to walk into the liquor store and and buy a case of Weller Antique.

It's just the internet.
Nothing beats debating silly things like each person's individual value proposition in terms of willingness to spend multiple hours on I-10 to buy $23 4-packs of beer during a pandemic

Well, i remember saying that those prices are never going to come down. They will simply omit the "charitable donation" and keep the prices high. And here we are today, where every brewery owner is now charging $18/4-pack for beers that cost $14 max 3-4 years ago.
Exactly what I said. The charitable donation was feeling out how much they could charge for their beer and still sell out

Yep- that is very true
But ironically that release was the DDH Juice Drop and it sat at their brewery for months. They had to do 2-3 price cuts to get rid of it before it went. Unfortunate because if was damn good

It may not be to the same scale, and I’m really not even comparing/arguing that
Glad you cleared that up, because it seemed like you were.

There are select breweries that have reached a level where people around the country follow their releases and try to get them or trade for them. Parish has reached that level. That’s all I’m saying.
That's cute! People take international flights to try and acquire Treehouse.
Parish has all of this pseudo-manufactured hype about a limited release? Treehouse has a line wrapping around their facility everyday of people just trying to buy their regular offerings. To try and compare these two breweries in anyway is naive at best. Again not even playing the same game.

I have never even heard of Tree House, lmao
Funny to see someone get so butthurt over a comparison.

Abita, here’s what getting overly defensive looks like.
It’s just beer, man. Nothing to get so upset about.
Parish has a huge national following. Treehouse having a bigger one doesn’t negate that.

I don't think this is true anymore. A couple of years ago, it would be true but not now.
Treehouse doesn't distribute also. Parish distributes Gitm which is one of their most sought after beers.

Hilarious! I'm not defending anything.
Just pointing out the indiscretion of your comments.
I'd gladly conduct a civil discussion with you while drinking a DDH Ghost!

Damn, I’d like to have a glass.
And the beer.
And the beer.

It’s definitely still true. I know I guy that lives 10 mins from there, they have 1+ hour lines every day.
Back to parish... this was one of their weakest marketing ploys for sure. All that (ridiculous) build up for a beer they have made 5 times is laughable. I stopped caring when I saw the first post. I had no intentions of getting whatever they were going to release. Yet here we are today and my inbox is blown up with people willing to buy me 4-packs and send me beer if I proxy. So sadly, they can charge what they want and the demand will still be there. And they will continue to do so.

But that charitable beer did not sell out either, in fact after a few months it was selling for 13-14 for a four pack
Posted on 5/18/20 at 6:51 pm to tduecen
Couldn’t you also buy that in Houston at spindletap? Lots of mules didn’t have to make the drive over for that one.
Posted on 5/18/20 at 6:53 pm to Demshoes
Is it brewery only or will any hit distribution?
Posted on 5/18/20 at 6:54 pm to Cash
Their other two beers with Great Notion are still for sale 2 weeks later.

Has anyone else’s pallet changed? I drank and traded for every hazy IPA I could get my hands on for the last 4 years.
And now, when I drink the more saturated IPAs like DDH ghost and Gnarmagedon they all literally taste the same. I can’t really explain it. And it’s not a good taste. It’s very numbing and off putting the flavor I get now.
It pisses me off bc I miss that taste, but it’s just gone. I’ve even tried not drinking them for a few weeks but it didn’t help. I’ve given up and started drinking turbo dog for Christ sake.
